We pitched our tents at the campsite. The site is a green oasis within the walls of the lodge. There are kitchen spaces with grills for bbq with power to charge your stuff. The toilets and showers are clean and showers are hot and good. Also, there is excellent wifi on the ground. We really liked the place which is close to ngorongoro crater.

Great hotel with great comfort. The room is incredibly spacious! Ability to light a fire at night. Hot water worked well.

Nice hotel 

We spent two days here to relax during our travels in Tanzania. The lodge is beautiful with unbelievable grounds.  Our lodging was a standalone duplex with a large sitting area including a fireplace.  The bedroom was also large with comfortable beds and bedding.  The bathroom was large as was the shower.  The shower is solar so it is hot but is a little tricky to get adjusted.  All and all the accommodations were great.  The property also had a large swimming pool with a swim up bar.  You could get a massage too, which according to some of our family, was very good.  The food was delicious with a large variety of items, buffets for both dinner and breakfast.  There was also a beautiful bar where you could get a night cap and sit by the fire in overstuffed chairs.  The staff were all friendly and wonderful.

Very comfortable lodge

We stopped here when visiting the Crater. Very clean, excellent service, warm welcome by friendly, professional and helpful staff. I would not hesitate for one second to stay here again. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Well Worth the Visit

We didn't know we were staying here but due to some overbooking at the hotel by the tour company we were booked here - i think we were lucky. this is a charming and tranquil place - the pool was fabulous and the beers were cold. After a day on safari this was a great place to unwind and discuss the many animals we had seen during the day.

The food was good, the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful and ALWAYS smiling.

We had 2 wonderful nights where we slept like proverbial logs. thouroughly recommended.

Unexpected stay but thoroughly enjoyable

We stayed at this place after a day Safari at Ngorongoro national park. This is quiet oasis away from the noisy streets of Karatu. The rooms are set up as cottages with nice beds, a good size bathroom and shower. They provide slippers and a nice touch of candy on the bed in the evening. Place is very clean. Dinner and breakfast were superb with a good selection of main courses and desserts.
The place has a pool but we did not use it. The dining area is very well decorated. 
The one downside i would add is that the place is a labrynth and its hard to find your cottage when it is dark, but there is always staff available to help you find your way around. The place can be dusty because the roads leading to the location are not paved but the hotel staff do a great job of keeping the place clean.

Nice quiet place in Karatu

We were pleasantly surprised with the Kudu Lodge.  It was a spacious room with comfortable beds.  The surrounding were lush green and had a nice pool with a swim up bar.  We didn't use it because the water was still a bit chilly, but we sat by the pool and enjoyed the serene atmosphere.  The bar was FANTASTIC! We had large, comfortable seats right by the fire.  The dinner was a large buffet of many dishes.  The water pressure was not great but everything else was top notch.

Great getaway

This hotel has beautiful tropical grounds. We were welcomed at the reception desk with hot towels and juice drinks. The bed was very comfortable and had a huge shower and bathroom. 

The hotel has a pool, gift shop, and bar separate from the restaurant.
The chef cooked gourmet meals. We had a large box breakfast to take on safari and returned for a hot lunch.  Dinner was served buffet style with numerous entree and dessert options.
