A delicate pearl hidden in Taitung area, no other to match its offerings. It is a beautiful 3 story house with 9 guest rooms, of each with its own balcony and one 2nd floor public balconie for small group gatherings. Of course on one could resist the temptation to sit in their garden. Every corner is SPOTLESS - you would believe this level of cleanliness if you stayed. Their beautiful garden is STUNNINGLY soothing. When eating your breakfast or enjoy a coffee there at anytime of the day, you have birds singing for you. We stayed for an extended week in March. We even had a chance to enjoy a Michelin style breakfast memorable for the rest of my life. When there are more than 2 guests, they offer buffet style breakfast which is a combination of western and Chinese style. Candy, the wife made artisan bread everyday to put on the table, along with other delicious sweet treats she baked. Tony, the husband and a food lover, offers guests organic fresh veggies, fruits and something from their backyard garden. The last 2 days, we were the only two guests there so we got to enjoy a Michelin style breakfast, 5 courses all cooked one after another with our eating pace - unbelievable! Bet a good luck to enjoy such a treat if your visit meets the 5 course breakfast criteria. They housekeep all the rooms and common area with top 5 star hotel quality. Their family style service really added so much warm moments in our experience. We chat about their business venture - designed, constructed and operated this BnB since their second daughter was born, 10 years ago. Taitung is not a touristic area but has beautiful beaches (quiet too) and plenty of tropical forest areas for hiking. Street food is very affordable and the city center has many restaurant choices. We enjoy our visit to a local fish market and many hiking ventures (mild level, from 1-4 hours long). If you don't want to rent a car, ask Candy for a local tour guide. He can drive you a day( 8-12 hours) visiting various hidden spots with US $100-120/day. Another option is to rent a bike if you like cycling. Local beaches are reachable on a bike. Also you can rent a motorcycle with a valid driver license (US license is not acceptable, get an IDP). Taitung is also well known for a few triathlon races. Race site is less than 2 miles from Candy's BnB.
