169 reviewsI stayed here for quarantine which meant 15 nights from 7/25-8/9. Our room was a bigger suite-sized room of 10.5 ping. It was the middle room of the floor between two end rooms. So it was the largest room in the hotel we were told. My room had perhaps 6x10 ft space for exercise. It widened up from 6 ft to almost 10 ft closer to the bathroom. Our bathroom was large enough for a tub/ shower setup and roughly 4x2 meters large. The shower tub had no curtain so the floor was often wet from showering. Our room was furnished with two double sized beds, with two firm Taiwanese style mattresses. We also had a small couch and table for two, mini fridge, electric kettle, and study desk. There was no closet, tho we had a corner nook for storage along with a wooden shoe shelf. There were two windows that were painted over with black and had blackout curtains making the room quite dark. However both windows could be opened about two feet wide and without screens allowed for some enjoyment of the fresh air and city views. I often relieved the boredom of my room by poking my head out the window to see the traffic and people below. Booking the hotel via email, we paid cash upon arrival which was $1500 TWD a night. Surprisingly and generously they allowed my dependent son to also stay in the room for an additional $100 TWD a night. They also allowed us to deposit cash from which they withdrew for room service meals. There is a bbq corn store across the street and soy pudding vendor that comes by in the afternoons from which the hotel delivered supplemental food at our cost. They also provided with our rent daily 3 meals in a standard bento box. Generally the food was warm but not hot upon delivery. The food was repetitive, it seemed like similar dishes began to repeat themselves after about 4 days. However, Uber Eats was quick and easy for an alternative. My family and friends came by the hotel and were able to leave useful items and foods as well. One delivery involved several large bags and a couple luggage sized items. The hotel staff promptly brought it up from the lobby to me. I felt the service and price were the best things about this hotel. Staff came by in full hazmat suits daily to check our temperatures. There was somebody who spoke English well working there, though we found generally spoke Chinese to everybody else who worked there as there other staff didn’t attempt to speak in English. If we asked for an extra pillow or toilet paper it was brought up within 5 minutes so service was quite quick. While this hotel is an aging facility, the price is very good and we had extensive emails to book it due to our unique situation with my dependent son sharing the room with me. My wife called Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, and Kaohshiung, but only Tainan city government didn’t question or challenge our request for our son to stay in the same room with me. I’m grateful that it went as well as it did with Prince Hotel and would stay there again for quarantine if needed. I recommend it for it’s size, value, and service.
