Excellent
27 reviewsI stayed at the Landmark Inn for five weeks while teaching at Fu Jen Catholic University, and it was an exceptional experience. The hotel is clean, well maintained, and the staff were friendly and very accommodating to foreign travelers. The front desk staff were happy to help in any way they could. For example, when I asked for food recommendations, front desk staff on multiple occasions actually walked me to nearby restaurants. Also, when I asked about adding money to my Easy Card, an employee walked me next door to 7-Eleven and assisted with the transaction. Now that is service! They also set up a message board to update guests during both typhoons, sent letters to each room to notify guests of small construction work taking place, and organized free transportation to a nearby night market. Landmark Inn is in a good location, adjacent to Xinzhuang Sports Complex and nearby many restaurants and stores, but it is outside of the city center in New Taipei City. Main bus lines stop in front of the building, and Xinzhuang Station (MRT Line 4A) is about a ten minute walk away. From here you can get to Taipei City center in about 30 minutes. The hotel is not large, with maybe five rooms on each floor. I stayed in a standard room on the 10th floor and my room was modern, spacious, and well decorated. The bed was queen size and the mattress was very plush. The room included a flat screen television (with limited English channels), a small refrigerator, a comfortable work desk with charging station, a fax machine, a sitting chair, and a hot water dispenser. A nice touch to the room was the fully functioning computer system, which allows you to control the AC, lighting, privacy features, alarm clock, etc. from a small panel next to the bed. The bathroom was also spacious and modern. The shower had great water pressure from both a rain style shower head and a handheld shower head. The room also had a large closet with mirrored doors, and an electronic safe. The only drawback was the lack of a dresser or larger drawers for storing clothing. The room also had Wi-Fi, which wasn't fast but worked consistently. Another convenience is full access to a laundry room in a separate building directly next to the hotel. On the 7th floor there are coin operated washing and drying machines as well as an iron and steamer. My room included a daily breakfast buffet. The breakfast consisted of a wide range of western and traditional food items, all well stocked and fresh. There was also coffee, tea, and juice available. I ate in the Italian restaurant for dinner once and was very pleased with the food. Servers and staff in the restaurant were friendly and happy to help in any way they could. Overall, my experience staying here for five weeks went beyond my expectations. I would be happy to be a return guest at Landmark Inn. They even have me a small gift the day I checked out. The only drawback would be location. Of course if you are in Taipei for a short stay as a visitor or tourist this would not be the ideal location, but for my purposes teaching at Fu Jen University, Landmark Inn was perfect!
