"Good Times B&B was a very Good Time." I stayed in the room on the top floor with the view of the harbor. It is worth the walk up; it is only a five minute walk down the hill to one entrance of the Old Road - lots of shops as well as tea and eating spots. The breakfast was surprisingly delicious - not the typical American portion-sized, but adequate and sufficient to start the day. The coffee was superb. Parking a short walk away. The staff did not speak very good English (and I don't speak Chinese) but we made it work with sign language, key words, and smiles. I would stay here again.

Not only does this small hotel provide exceptional service, but its prime location is truly unbeatable. Just a brief 4-minute stroll away from the captivating "Old Street," guests can effortlessly immerse themselves in the rich history and vibrant atmosphere of the area. The convenience of being so close to this iconic landmark added an extra layer of charm to my stay, allowing me to explore the cultural heart of the city with ease. I couldn't have asked for a better combination of comfort and accessibility.

What a wonderful memory in Jiufun!  

It was my boyfriend’s very first visit in Asia, especially meeting my family in Taiwan.  He was very nervous, didn’t what to expect, not sure how he would fit in.  My sister in Taiwan recommended to take him to Jiufun and Tainan.  I left Taiwan over 20 years ago, it is in fact easier for me to get around in Honolulu, San Francisco, New York, and Paris where I have lived during the past 20 years than Taiwan.  My sister took the lead to plan the trips and make the reservations early on, so we showed him Jiufun and Tainan along with my other sister from Germany.  I got my dream room « Greece » at Good Time this time.  The room is so spacious with great ocean and mountain view.  Coming from small living space of the various cities I’ve lived and worked, I totally enjoy the relaxing space and view here.

I spent hours looking at the mountain view from the bed during sunrise and enjoying the change of colors in the sky... wish I could stay there for longer...but we had to leave for Tainan...

Food and tea were delicious, people were super nice... he is falling in love with Taiwan...

Just stayed two nights here.  Great view from my room to overlook ocean bay and surrounded amazing neighborhood.  Room is well maintained and clean.  The best thing to share is very warming and helpful owner and his son.  Their services are fantastic. They deserve the highest review.

The owners of Good Time B&B put a lot of effort into their minsu and it certainly pays off. The owners are a 70s year-old brother-sister duo with the brother's son helping out as well. They do their best to make you feel at home. The sister told us that when the guests leave during the day, every day they clean and sanitize the place and it definitely shows because the place was spotless! Some of the furniture in their dining area is their old family furniture that has been refurbished. Service is also on point. They helped us to arrange for a taxi to the train station the next morning and gave us an early breakfast (at 6 am!) of boiled eggs, bread and delicious coffee. The minsu is located 5-10 minutes walking distance from the old street of Jiufen which is a must-visit. Overall, would recommend this minsu for its cleanliness and hospitality and location to Jiufen old street. We arrived by taxi to the minsu so I am not sure how easy it is to find the minsu if you were to go by public transport. FYI - I booked a room for three people and requested an extra bed (for 800 NT) which was essentially a comforter and a pillow on the ground. Because it was cold that night, the three of us managed to sleep on the huge king sized bed just fine.

Lovely, slightly odd, family-run place. Great location, short walk from the top of Jiufen's "Old Street".

Our room had amazing views, and was clean and well-maintained. The only thing that could use some improvement is the doors: For some reason, room doors have frosted glass (so you have light from the hallway shining into your room), and the bathroom had no door...

Breakfast was decent.

This hotel doesn't really have parking, but they showed me a pullout a short walk from the hotel where I could leave the car. You can drive up to the hotel for loading, but it's a very narrow single-lane but two-way road...

The owners are very friendly and helpful. They do their best, very little English. The home made food was good. Though sometime some wasted as they didn't ask what I wanted before serving. The picture on hotels.com shows a very fresh white painted building, it does not reflect the current state, it needs painting. VERY very clean hotel inside. Very big room with nice view. Great location to Old Street, close but VERY quiet. Only real big issue was internet. They need to address their firewall and speed. Could not use most of what I needed due to internet problems. I did find it a little overpriced for Taiwan hotel. Area in mountains for hiking just up from location is fantastic. Again nice owner / managers.

Clean, good location, nice people, wifi issues

This place is an easy walk to Old Street. It has amazing views of the ocean, mountain, and town below. The rooms were very large with plenty of space. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Our only complaint is that the bed was typical of most beds in Asia and extremely hard. If you are only here for a night or like hard mattresses then it isn't a problem, but we couldn't have done more than one night. We would recommend the b&b to others but would definitely warn them about the bed.

Great location and gorgeous views

First the positive: the room was very large and had great views. Also had some great personality, had stepping stones in the front door. Also very convenient location to the market, though you will need a cab to get here.Not so good, had a broken light in the room, some of the lights in the ceiling did not seem to work, and generally the place needs a bit more attention. Also had a strange breakfast, they should offer more options. Staff very pleasant and tried hard here.

Large rooms with great views

Great location, only 3 minutes walk to the top the old street - fantastic views over the town out to the sea from our room. Friendly hosts looked after us well, and helped to find some parking on the street nearby for our car.
Room was large, a little cold but the blankets were warm. Plenty of hot water in the showers.
Breakfast was basic, but tasty - eggs, fish, warm bread and oatmeal. Good coffee as well. 
All in all a nice place to stay for a night or so to explore Jiufen. Its in a quiet area above the main tourist area.

Great location and friendly

Dream come true

Stayed in Superior Double Room (Bali), the room is quite big with nice view. It's a good place to escape from city life. Before booking I do read up many reviews saying only 3 mins walk from old streets, indeed it is very near old street. But in details, it's quite a long journey if you are walking from the main entrance (7-11 side). So if you are carrying luggage, always listen to the host *take a cab* to their doorsteps. The breakfast is simple yet is nice. The host is very friendly and we enjoy chatting with them.Bed is too soft for my hubby. If they can add  Bathroom Shelves Holder to put shampoos & shower gel will be good, at least we need not to bend up and down.

Nice View & excellent location

The experience was impeccable. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Local knowledge was very good and provided us with a lot of pointers on how to get to places and how to utilise our time. We felt like we had been taken care of by a family member.The hotel is very conveniently located to JiuFen old street. Basically everything was within walking distance. The view was amazing. We enjoyed a superb ocean view while being surrounded by the traditional and historical sceneries of JiuFen.The hosts made us breakfast and brewed us coffee in the morning. They also went ahead and helped us book a car to take us around JiuFen and nearby towns.I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and will visit again!
