Ocean Journey Cafe

I'm writing this in month 7 of being on the road. This included driving from San Francisco to New York, a decent stretch in Scandinavia, Germany and Poland, and various countries in Southeast Asia. Hands down I rate Ocean Journey as one of the top 5 places I've stayed at over this time in terms of what you get for what you pay. Momo greeted us warmly and even surprised us with some delicious home made cakes (passion fruit cake and red bean cake!) baked by her sister. She took the time to go over a map of town with us and recommended some spots to grab a bite to eat (soup dumplings! oyster pancakes!). They were both extremely local, budget friendly and tasty as a mother. She even hooked us up with bicycles to get to where the restaurants were. When we needed a taxi, she arranged one for us and told the driver where to go. She's spent years living in Canada and it was nice being able to speak to her freely in English. Her mom and sister are both super sweet and welcoming too. The rooms were ridiculously nice. The last time I stayed at a room this nice was at a bed and breakfast in Memphis eight years ago and I paid about four times as much. I don't usually take baths but the bathtubs in the rooms are so awesome I had to. My lady and I were seriously torn between exploring the beauty of Taroko National Park and just luxuriating in the comfort of our room. You can tell that a lot of though and care was put into every single detail of this place. I would 100% stay here every single time I'm in the area. It has the intimacy and feel of a truly great bed and breakfast with the feel and service of a luxury hotel.
