The Dama Rose Hotel is located along the main Barada River just outside the Old City Gates of Damascus.
It has a really nice outdoor Swimming Pool with an attached restaurant that happens to serve one of the best Fish & Chips in all of Syria! Chef Ahmed has been serving both this restaurant and the hotels Room Service for well over twenty year’s. He still prepares each dish as per his specialty with: great elegance; flair and most flavorsome taste!
The service at this restaurant is very professional and very fast with both Nabil and Ghayth working there for many, many years.
Finally, the prices are very reasonable.
This was only my first visit this season to the Dama Rose, but I know it will not be my last of this season. 
So, if you yearn to enjoy a very relaxing day in the sun and to enjoy a great lunch you must try the Dama Rose Swimming Pool and try their amazing restaurant. You will not be disappointed. Trust me!

The weather in Damascus was quite warm for the past few days so we deicided to cool off at the Dama Rose Hotel’s swimming pool.
After a few hours of really enjoying the swimming pool and the sun we all got hungry so we decided to order lunch. We had a great lunch at the Dama Rose Hotel’s Swimming Pool boutique Restaurant!
The menu was quite extensive, for a swimming pool restaurant, and before I ordered I spoke with the chef and he suggested the fish plate for me and my wife had a large order of French Fries. 
My ‘fish plate’ was really large and included a huge filet of fish; a large portion of French fries; coleslaw salad; sliced tomatoes and a large portion of tartar sauce.
The service was excellent and the view of the pool area was very relaxing. 
I strongly suggest that anyone who wishes to relax and to enjoy a great lunch should try the Dama Rose Swimming Pool Restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Before problems in Syria it was meridian and after that dedeman, in that time hotel was much more better than now.in my last trip it was clean and still nice and friendly.the breakfast was good. exchange at reception was so different from bazar.

The photo on this review is not Dama Rose Hotel.  It is the Omayad Mosque.
Dama Rose is a beautifully decorated Hotel with very good service. The food is fine but not exceptional.
Preferable book a room at the front where you have a good view of Damascus or the .nice open air swimming pool .


Brilliant for Weddings

I have spent with my wife four days in Damascus for business purposes. We have particularly appreciated our stay in Dama Rose Hotel, specially that the staff was very welcoming and amiable. In spite of the sad events that the country has witnessed during the last years, we really felt very secured and pampered in this property. The prevailing ambiance was very mundane with continuous check-ins and check-outs all through. The rooms were very cozy and comfortable, well serviced with an overwhelming view of the city from all sides. There is an outdoor beach-like swimming pool. The meals in the different restaurants were very appetizing and consistent and the shopping gallery very colorful and the interior lounge design.typically oriental

Dama Rose Hotel, a jewel in the heart of Damascus

I visited Damascus, Syria for a week and found it to neat, clean, well organised and secure. I traveled by air to Damascus and then by road to Lebanon. My stay in Dama Rose Hotel was comfortable and my travel from Syria to Lebanon in three hours by a taxi was enjoyable and comfortable. No difficulty at exit and entry point both in and out of Damascus. Weather was nice and people were hospitable and kind. Old city quarters are worth visiting. Night around Mustaqeem Road in old city is lively and full of youngsters..

Overall Environment in Damascus

The hotel is secure and in the center of the city. 
You can just walk to the old city or to many places around the center without the need of taxi.
Must make a booking in advance to get a proper rate.
You can also book directly with the hotel the Europcar taxi service to get a direct pick up at Beirut Airport to drive you strait to Damascus for a maximum of 100$.

For Business and Official visits

Well we went for work invited for a week and we loved the place.. well prepared daily.. tasty clean food.. excellent service.. we took 4 rooms and stayed there enjoying the trip.. even with this bad situation.. it was very nice
