Rochers-de-Naye Yurts

The Yurt is fun, although I must warn you of a distinctive 'wet yak' smell, which improved once we'd aired the place out a bit! We all slept really well. The best thing about staying the night is that all the day trippers leave at 5pm, so you have the mountain to yourself (there were 9 of us in total including staff). We walked up to the lookout (15 mins) to watch the most amazing sunset after dinner. Good food, the best apple pie and lovely croissants for breakfast. Plan to go back and do some the walk trails next time - you can walk back down to Montreux in 3.5hrs. If you're in Montreux this is the perfect short trip to get your mountain fix. We hadn't read the small print, so turned up without any sleeping bags or pillows, the staff were really friendly and helpful, happy to provide us with duvets from the hotel rooms. Showers/toilets all v clean, as the cleaners were in at 6pm once the day trippers had left. Marmots very cute, we had loads of fun feeding them choice plants from our side of the fence, they like anything with a crunchy stalk, just watch your fingers!!
