631 reviewsI was unsure of what to expect in Montreux. I had initially booked this hotel via booking.com. However, when I contacted the hotel directly to confirm the booking, they offered to match the price, so I booked directly. It was CHF 150 for one night in a double lake front room with breakfast included. For breakfast, freshly made scrambled eggs were on offer, which were delicious, as well as cereals, yogurts, fruits, juices and a selection of breads as well as coffee and tea. David's welcome was really lovely. He knew my name the next day and was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was huge! I took a lake view double room with a balcony. It was fabulous to be able to watch the sunset over the lake that evening. The room itself is a little old-fashioned/dated, but the space and view make up for it, as well as the comfort of the bed and the fact that everything is spotlessly clean. There is also a TV with a few English-speaking channels if that helps to wind down (I usually avail). Montreux itself seemed a bit up in the air with construction - it looked like the place was getting ready for or cleaning up after a festival. Lots of construction going on, so that wasn't great. but the lake trip is well worth it. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the hotel.
