For the purpose of visiting the city of St. Gallen, we stayed two nights at the Boutique City Hotel Gallo. The St. Gallen fair starts right next door. The pedestrian centre is 15 minutes' walk away. Very friendly and hospitable staff. However, the free local transport tickets were only available a day later and only on demand. The beds and bedding were very good, no plastic and no foam pillows. With open windows there was clear traffic noise. The included breakfast was sufficient. The overall score was therefore almost very good.

Messe-near-town hotel

I've been on business for three nights there. Christian the owner is very friendly and always tries to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Parking lots are behind the house located right next to the fair.

Super price-performance right next to the fair and close to the centre

The staff is extremely hospitable and friendly, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast buffet offers a good selection of high-quality organic products.

Absolutely recommended

Located within walking distance of the pen district (1000 m). Own parking spaces in the backyard. Rooms spacious and well furnished. There is an elevator. Extremely friendly hotel service. Good breakfast offer (separately bookable). Absolute well-being (equipment, care, etc.). Our room was absolutely quiet, no traffic noise. Anytime.

Perfect location, good value for money

The owners were really friendly. It was a hotel - but felt like we stayed in a home. It was clean and quiet. Very close to the main sights.. I highly recommend this place. We stayed for 4 nights. The bus stop is located right in front. Very easy to get to the train station.

Great service

The hotel is good but the owner is what makes the difference. He really goes out of his way to ensure everything's there to meet your needs.
The location is convenient between university and downtown/train station.
I would come again!

Warm reception, good location

Very comfortable family-owned hotel.  Rooms are neat and clean, bathroom spotlessly and modern.  My room, on the back of the hotel, was very quiet.  The owner, Christian, is very nice and available, always eager to give suggestions about places to visit.  We felt like we were visiting friends instead of staying at a hotel.  
The only point that can be improved would be to add shades to the windows, as otherwise you risk being woken up by the light of dawn.  (Christian was very kind to set up pillows against a window, which improved a bit the darkening.)

Nice family-owned hotel

Family of 4 with a 1 year old baby and an older girl of 2.5 years. We spent two nights in the hotel. Superb hostel. Very nice, open, understanding. Nice breakfast with everything you need and especially for children (suitable covers, high chairs). Baby bed available. The rooms are simple. Nothing crazy but the main thing is here, clean and of good quality. 10 minutes from the historic center and 15 minutes from the train station. Two good restaurants nearby (book!). A simple hotel that offers everything you need but with heart and generosity in addition! We warmly recommend!

It's simple, it's nice, we recommend it!

I think I've never found such a kind, cordial, willing, etc. owner...always willing to accommodate the needs of customers. The room, a triple, very large, with a nice living room in front of the windows, well furnished, well heated, very nice and spacious bathroom, shower with water flowing perfectly (often I find little pressure and wash my hair becomes a problem), good breakfast, bread with seeds that was found every morning is one of the best ever eaten in a hotel, the really great location, a few minutes' walk from the Compost Hospital and in the nearby weather (15/20 minutes' walk), the bus stop is practically outside the hotel door to the Malbergo, thanks to many restaurants in the area of the city center.

Kindness at all!!

The entrance and reception area have been renovated, have a nice ambiance. The rooms are very old-fashioned but still in very good condition and clean. The bathroom is completely renovated and very beautiful. The rooms are equipped with radio, TV, minibar and complete bathroom layout. In the reception there is always someone very friendly to meet who is open to questions and happy to help. The hotel is very close to the city centre which can be reached on foot. The hotel also has a parking space.
