Wonderful welcome and service. Great value for money. Rooms are clean and tastefully appointed. Restaurant on the terrace serves wonderful local food. Secure parking and biker friendly. Great location.

Flora is a nice place to relax, on the outskirts of Lugano, yet close enough to enjoy the city. 

Time seems to stand still and everything is appearing a bit outdated, but in a charming and good way. Enjoyed the lovely decorated bedroom and modern bathroom. 

Wonderful breakfast from handpainted porcelain. What else to ask?

While visiting Geneva, my sisters family and us took a side trip to Lugano Switzerland. While looking for a place to stay, this place came up and I liked the pictures and the free parking so we booked. 
The place was wonderful. The rooms were nicely furnished and unique in the adaptation to the original building. The owners and staff welcome you with warm fires in the dining area, good food, personable service, and information about the area.

Traditional grotto above Lugano in the Colina d'Oro area (a bit tricky to find the place) The local dishes are prepaired on the open fireplace. Big terrace where you can enjoy the good food (try the risotto al funghi...). Flora (a very charming person!) and her family are doing a great job  - this place is definitely worth a vist.

A Great Get Away

funny place...

Hidden gem

My wife booked this hotel as overnight stay during our family trip to Italy. Choice was made based on photos showing pool. This was essential for our kids.  
First off all this is located quiet far away from the highway. You need to drive through very tiny streets to get there. At the location there was not enough parking space.  When we saw the room (for 4 people) this was really tiny compared to the number of beds there were. There is almost no room at all to move between the beds.  
Also we needed to share bathroom and toilet with 5 other rooms.  Looking at the price we paid for this this is really overpriced and not worth it. You can get better value for money. Also when we checked out it seemed that we needed to pay some additional taxes. When I wanted to pay with my credit card the hostess did really insist to pay this cash. 
There is no pool also despite the photo's we saw advertised. 

Its clear for me this is really trying to get every penny out of people that are staying there. Friendlyness is only in function to get as much money as possible.
I recommend to avoid this.  

This is a hotel from the middle ages for a premium price. This is not what you expect today from a hotel.
