Suderbys Herrgård

I was part of a group who were there for a week. The rooms are small but adequate and have all facilities. My room had only a shower. Food is really good and varied, a different main course each day. Some meals are set out as buffet. Alcohol is available but in Sweden is expensive. Wifi OK in main building but poor in some rooms which are separate to the main building. A long walk to main road if you have no transport.

A quiet country situation away from the town.

I recommend this Herrgård as a decent priced, pretty location close to Visby and beaches. Although I must say this is one of the few times I have checked into a hotel and not felt welcomed, on the contrary I was treated like a nuisance rather than a guest. Even on checking out there were no pleasantries. This did not, however, extend to the staff serving a sumptuous breakfast - of which was a highlight of the stay. The rooms are small and the prison-like accommodation complex is in need for a wash - mould on the walls of the entrance that could be cleaned in a jiffy is hardly a pleasant way to arrive at your room (which were actually very clean). Suderbys Herrgård provide free wifi which was pretty fast. I slept well and would recommend this place based on price, location (if you want it quiet) and the quality of food.

Nice place but could be more welcoming

Although the rooms are small , clean and functional , really too small for 2 people, the food  and service amply compensate for this. Both breakfast and dinner( and the packed lunches too) are of high quality thanks to an imaginative cook . I still dream of her Kaip cream soup(made of a local wild onion) and  was greatly impressed by the many ways she presents simple carrots.The herring buffet had no equal.Service is pleasant. Surroundings are very rural and quiet, yet Visby is only 7 kms. away.
