Kajkanten Vrångö

We would absolutely travel back to Vrango and stay at Kajkanten again. The accommodation was perfect for our family of four. We availed ourselves of the sauna rental for a fun morning of sauna, hot tub and cold plunge. We ordered breakfast and dinner boxes for delivery. All the ingredients super fresh and tasty, portions extremely generous. We loved exploring the island via well maintained walking trails and even saw some deer on the high rocks. The local store has everything you need to fill in if you decide to cook yourself. Truly unique and special way to spend time between flights into Stockholm and out of Oslo.

We went kayaking with Hakan Karlsten from Kajkanten vrango today and had a wonderful time. Hakan also let our group use one of the hotel rooms to store our things while we were on the water. He is a great guy and we had a fantastic experience! Hakan took the time to help those who were not experienced and as a result everyone had a great day!

We loved it here and stayed 3 nights. We could happily have stayed longer. The direct communication re booking was very easy and response was almost immediate. 
We had breakfast boxes delivered one day, booked the sauna and kayaks too. A very peaceful place to visit, just what we were looking for to spend time outside walking, swimming and enjoying the natural surroundings. 
The rooms were spotlessly clean and very well equipped with all you could need for the stay. Everything is thought of. We had 2 rooms overlooking the water. Håkan was extremely helpful when we needed it and went out of his way to be so. 
We loved Vrango too and were very pleased we spent 3 days here. The four of us rented 2 double kayaks and spent a day exploring some of the coast of Vrango and smaller islands, having been advised which route was best for the conditions. 
Our evening in the sauna raft was fun, complemented by a seafood delivery arranged through Kajkanten too.  Also getting her from Gothenburg could not have been simpler, using the Vassttrafik travel app. 

All in all a fab break from the UK and time very well spent with our eldest son.

THis is one of the best places to visit if you like nature! the staff att Kajkanten va always very nice and helpfull! we (me and my family (3 kidds, 14, 11, 9)) are already talking about visiting again! 

The owner was such a great guy and very accommodating!  I arrived alone today and he took the time for a conversation, provide recommendations, a map and off I went on a hike.  I returned after lunch to rent a sea kayak for a few hours.  Beautiful and peaceful!!  He is a real pro and it shows that he cares......and not to mention that his family has lived on that island for around 500+ years.  So, if you have the chance, JUST GO!!  I look forward to returning in the future to stay for a few days.....I am a sucker for a wood-fired, floating sauna!!!  I need to investigate that!!

Spent two nights at Kajkanten. 
Hakan, Madeleine, and Evelina were superb hosts. Helped us from the ferry to & from & anything we requested. 
The room was perfect, absolutely spotless. Slept soundly and cooked one night. Fully equipped kitchen & literally right on the water. Harbor views, quiet area and dramatic sunrises. 
Explored the island on their bikes, did some light hiking on the trails and spent the afternoon in the floating sauna. That’s a must do! Nothing like good sweat/ detoxing with the wood fired sauna and plunging in the chilly Baltic. 
The Swedish Archipelago never seems to disappoint and staying in Vrango/ Kajkanten was truly a bucket list experience.

A Perfect 2 days stay with Family and Kids . Very clean and cozy appartments equipped with everything needed.  We enjoyed the outdoor seating and nice swimming beaches on the west side.
Perfect sunset at the pilots House. 
Calm surroundings directly at the harbour front.  Nice fish Restaurant nearby.



I came with a tour group and did kayaking with the Karlsten family. It was a great experience. They also have a hotel with fully equipped apartments. 
Many people from my group said they would come back and stay for a while in this paradise on Earth.

The owner and staff were lovely. Very friendly and hospitable. Location and views can't be beaten. 

The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed for a couple of days' stay, where we cooked most of our food. Grocery store nearby. Super cozy to have breakfast on tables on the dock. The large boathouse was a great size for a friends' trip. 

We also booked the floating sauna which I highly recommend for the view!

Mycket fina & fråscha sjöbodar med toppenläge i hamnen. Personalen var supertrevlig och vi hade en toppenvistelse på Vrångö.
Kan varmt rekomenderas! 

Very nice accommodation in the southern part of the Gothenburg archipelago. The sea cabins where newly renovated and had perfect location in the harbor of Vrångö. The staff was very nice and helpful.
This place had everything we could have wished for!

Supertrevligt boende i södra skärgården!

I have been at Kajkanten Vrångö with my girlfriend for one night. The room was equipped with everything we needed for our stay:
- double size bed, with sheets and so on;
- the kitchenette includes two fires (pans, dishes, cutlery, and so on are also available), a microwave, and a small fridge;
- the bathroom was equipped with soap, towels, and a hairdryer;
- fast and stable internet connection.

The location is very romantic and quiet, perfect for a nice weekend. The host is friendly and available for every need. We have been also amazed by the island.

We cannot wait to come back and try the sauna.

Perfect for a romantic weekend

We had a short break in one of the harbourside cottages and we found the accommodation very clean and tidy and perfect for a short stay for a single person, or couple.
The floating sauna was also excellent and although we didn't take the sea dip in the middle (it was January !), we enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to others if you like that sort of thing.
The island was beautiful and we walked around the nature reserve to the north, finding a few lovely little tucked away sandy beaches, which on another day (in the summer !), would be perfect for a swim in the clear waters off the island.
You have o travel to the island by ferry and there are no cars there and you cannot bring your own, but the island is small and walking will take you anywhere you wish to go on it in a short time.
