Pärlan Hotell

We really enjoyed our stay at this small hotel with lots of charm. The hotel is a very easy walk from the underground station. You need to take the underground to Ostermalmstorg, travelling towards either Ropsten Line 1 or towards Morby Centrum on Line 14. You have to check in at Hotel Wellington just around the corner. Look for the Clarion Collection sign as it is easier to spot than the hotel's plaque. We received a very warm welcome and then it is only a short walk to Hotel Parlan which is an annex of the Wellington. The hotel has very good security, with key codes having to be used twice to gain entry. The building is very quaint with a spiral staircase and marble steps. There is a very small lift, antiquated but works fine. The interior of the hotel has a comfortable sitting area and you can make yourself tea or coffee in the kitchen area. Tasty biscuits are provided for guests. There is also a small balcony sitting area. Our room was small but reasonably well equipped and overlooked the inner courtyard area and because of this was very quiet.There is no air con so you have to have the windows open meaning that a street facing room might be noisy. Beds were very comfy. We were grateful for the two comfy chairs provided in the room. The bathroom is very dated but everything worked fine apart from the fact there was no plug for the sink. Breakfasts were fantastic. Fresh food, varied and very tasty. You can have eggs cooked if required. There is a small dining area.The hotel was not very busy when we visited so plenty of space. My main criticisms of this hotel are that there is a shortage of storage space for clothes, no mirror in the main room making it difficult to dry hair using the hairdryer. There is no safe and walls are very bare. However, overall, this is excellent value for money with a lovely informal atmosphere. The hotel is well positioned for walking to all of the main attractions. There are some excellent restaurants in the local area. We would strongly recommend Aubergine on Linnegaten or if you want fine dining, Gastrologik. We didn't rate Oyster Bar very highly..
