STF Storulvån Fjällstation

We stayed at this STF mountain station the night before embarking on our epic walk to Sylarna. Everything was operated very smoothly (from checking in to our spotless room, via drinks at the bar to supper and breakfast). The main assets of this establishment are its uber-helpful and friendly staff and the great breakfast buffet. Nothing could have been better.

Good beds and clean rooms. Plenty to select from at breakfast. Should you opt for a lunch bag, extra charge but worth it. Then you can just take a break and eat what ever you have in the lunch bag. Do not forget to fill your thermos with something watm to drink. Enjoy the lunch stop and listen to the sound of ”silence” apart from the wind.

Stayed there for one night before our 5 day hike. Great service and great food! It was very convenient that we could leave the car there for 5 days as well while we were going away hiking! We also arrived quite late but the friendly staff still managed to sort us out with some great dinner!

STF Storulvån is a unique mountain station with its remote location combined with its high service level. This is one of the best starting points (and finals as well) for the hiking beginner. You can easily get her by train, buss or car and then start your hiking in the Jämtland mountains, with tent or just walking from hut to hut. The mountains in Jämtland are  very beautiful but also quite easy to cope with. Not as demanding as those norther up. In STF Storulvån you can get all services you want and if you are a beginner you can book a mountain guide there or just stay at the mountain station and go on one-day walks in the surroundings. It will give you plenty of mountain feeling. 

Beatifully situated in the mointains. Great surroundings, nice facilities and excellent food.

Service- minded staff and excellent facilities. The mountains surrounding the station are inviting. Well-signed tracks lead you into the wilderness and other STF stations  day or two day walk aeay.
All are closely stuated to Norway.

Decent lodgings, good restaurant, great view. Nice place in a great but remote location. We stopped by for one night before heading out on a three day hike, and came by again on our way back home. Enjoyed the sauna, food and view.
