We found the location good - quite near to Station and very near to shops. Thanks to Rodrigo, who was courteous, helpful, friendly in helping us check in nicely. The room allotted to us was big and spacious! It is important to us and we treasure that. There was water and fruits (if needed) available too. Delicious breakfast of toast, eggs, cheese, coffee etc. was served in our room. We were so full after that. We would like to thank everyone who worked behind the scene too to enable us to have a comfortable and great stay. Thanks!

I stayed here while in town for a conference and most hotels were fully booked so I ended up at Ahlströms. Not having been my first choice the stay turned out ok. My room was small but clean and comfortable. I shared the toilet and shower with other guests but they were clean. 
Breakfast was served in my room at a pre-arranged time.
The location is really good and I since just used my room at night Ahlström was a good choice. My only complaint is the noice, you can hear people talking and walking in the stairs and hallways quite clearly.

We stayed in Apartment 8, which is oddly located in the back of the hotel. There's no on-site staff, so you have to ring the call button, talk to the staff and have someone come from another property. The room was worth the wait. The kitchen was small but reasonably well equipped. The dining room almost elegant and the living room/bedroom combo quite spacious. The bed comfortable and it's really quiet. Don't know if the rooms measure up to the apartment, which was a bargain. Breakfast delivered on the dot and a good start to the day.

Nice Surprise

I really don't know if I enjoyed staying in Ahlstrom or not. We stayed there for 2 nights, in May.
I will list both the positive and negative points, and probably it could help.

First the positive points:
The rooms are spacious, clean, comfy and bright. (it is almost an apartment). There is a small kitchen(old), and a nice dinning room for breakfast.

The location is great. It is 3 minutes walk to the main cathedral and  10 minutes to the central station.
There was free internet included in the room.

The negative points:
On our entrance, I felt that I entered a really really cheap hostel. There were bags of dirty towels(!) laid in front of the entrance door ( a really really small and dark room with stairs to the reception).
 
There was no elevator, so you should have carried your luggage for at least 20 stairs to get to the receptionist, and some more to get into the room. 

The building is too old, and there was a soggy smell in the corridors.  The corridors were dark and unclean. Also you cannot see an staff around, in case you need  to get extra information.

All and all, I do have mixed feeling about it. With respect to the cost and the previous hotels that I have stayed before in Lund, I will not suggest the hotel. I was happy as long as I was in the room, but not outside.

Strange and basic !!

This hotel has an excellent location in a walking district. It has a good parking possibility on the opposite side of the street. The breakfast was served to our room an was quite acceptable.
Our prolem was that there was no one to receive us at arrival (4 pm), although the reception is advertised as open from 3 pm. After a 35 min wait a clerk arrived. He was in no mood to apologize and started arguing violently, in the end getting personal (commenting about my age etc). This was highly unpleasant and unusual. In the end he gave us a nice room with a dining area. This diminished our frustration a bit. The rooms were poorly maintained with a door that would not close, but they were clean
