Very recommendable. I wish I had stayed longer. People friendly and very cozy.

Nice helpful staff , great location to enjoy northern lights.

Nice propertyt, near the town supermarket. This is a must during one stays, specially when most restaurants close after the summer season. It is also very close to the lake side if you come to Abisko to catch a glimpse of the Nortern lights where you can just walk over and have one of the best viewing area. The staffs are superb and very helpful. I highly recommend and I will stay here again should I visit Abisko again.

Amazing and unforgettable experience from start to finish. Abisko was such a peaceful place and staff at the guesthouse really helped to make our stay extra special. I had some special requests for a suprise engagement and Lukas and Carolina went out of their way to help and make it all work! Huge thank you to Lukas Carolina Tony Alex and all of the staff and guides who helped to make this trip one we will never forget. Would highly recomend for couples or solo travellers alike.  Abisko guesthouse has all you will need and more. We took the train from Stockholm which was also a really nice way to see the countryside. Will be back again soon. If you want to see the Northern Lights, this is one of the best places you can stay. The accommodations are clean and comfortable, and are located within a short walking distance to the grocery store and train station. Additionally, the National Park Visitor's Center is within walking distance, made possible by a convenient, lighted footpath.  One of the best places to see the lights is the shores of the nearby lake, also within walking distance. The best thing about the Abisko Guesthouse is its cost. Why pay more for a place to sleep??? Why not pay less, and then spend your money on the many tours and experiences available through the guesthouse? I took advantage of their BBQ/Northern Lights Tour and their Tour to Norway. Both were great and well worth my time. The staff here is very kind and helpful, and the owner, Klas, is a very good person. You can't beat what this establishment has to offer! Also, if you book a stay with them, I highly recommend using their website to book a transfer shuttle from the Kiruna Airport to the Guesthouse. It is the best way to make the trip. They meet you right at the airport. The train is also available but it only has one or two routes per day, so I wouldn't waste your precious time.

We stayed as a family here for three nights. Our main purpose was to do hikes nearby and hope to catch the Aurora. It is located within walking distance from the Abisko Ostra train station.Abisko guest house provides all the facilities of a clean room with a common kitchen and dining area. There is a grocery very close by for you to get food etc. I don't think there is any restaurant here. You can rent warm clothing sets and this is very handy if you are going to be out for a long time in cold weather. The staff are also very helpful in guiding you. If you plan to do any day time hikes, then most of these trails start from Abisko Turistation. No problem if you have a car. If you don't, it is about 3 km from the guest house. There is a nice walking path to Abisko turistation, but you have to factor this extra distance in case you are planning hikes from there. The guesthouse staff also help you in case you want to do different guided hikes, aurora tours etc. There is a paid guest laundry facility also available. We had a very enjoyable stay here. Thank you.

This place activities included, which is a plus. Unless you are able to get reservation available at mountain Lodge restaurant one has to cook their food, hence ga ing the super market is very helpful. Walkable from bus station and Abisko Ostra train station. If it's an activity that you book with someone else, make sure to have pick up option from your hotel in Abisko.

Abisko Guesthouse and Activities(room #5)Booked this place as it was the cheapest in Abisko for 1 night.Few minutes walk from the train station and grocery store.Our room was small but it was OK for 1 night.Room should have a mirror, and charging outlet for the bed above.Not so good sound isolation, hear people from the kitchen.There is a kitchen with all you need.Shared bathroom and toilets.Basic place and I could stay here again.See my pictures

It's OK

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay at Abisko guesthouse. The place has all you need and the staff is very helpful. We wondered a bit why there was no sorting of waste, and its difficult to figure out who is in charge of the different activities.The surroundings are incredible and perfect for chasing northern lights on the nearby frozen lake. During our stay they weren't visible from the window.Thank again for a great experience, we wouldn't hesitate for a second to come back.

Northern light chase!

November visit

We went there last week of December, Abisko was fully snow covered and winter was harsh, my review of the guesthouse is as under
1. We came by a bus from Kiruna, got dropped off near the abisko ostra train station. The guest house is 5 minutes' walk from the train station. We had heavy luggages and the road was snowy and slippery, so we had a hard time even covering that 5 minutes. Not the guesthouse's fault though :). Overall easy location to find. There is a supermarket just 2 minutes walking distance away, next door literally. 
2. Check in was swift. we reached around 5.30 pm and was explained about the check in process admirably by the reception guy, who was also the owner i guess. I think the check in counter closes at 6.30 pm so one should try to reach before that time. Otherwise you will have to call the owner. The reception desk doubles up as a souvenier shop, you can buy few souveniers from here if you want to take back home. 
3. The lodging building is few steps further away from the reception desks. The key provided to us worked for accessing both the main door of the lodge as well  as the door of the room we were provided with. 
4. We stayed in a bunk bed room with shared bathrooms. I guess there are other categories, one should look at their website. Our lodging building only had rooms with shared bathrooms. Our room was tiny, like a capsule with bunk beds. My wife and i had no problems staying in it but someone with claustophobia might have a problem with the size of the room. There was no window in the room. Though initially we found it little obnoxious (as we had never stayed in such a place), the place ultimately grows on to you. The lodging house also has a spacious dining/drawing hall, where one can sit and spend their time. The drawing room also has a television set and few board games, books. We found it quite nice. 
5. Bathrooms are to be shared. But there are quite a few of those, nice and clean. So we did not find it difficult to share with others. We always found it to be clean. 
6. There is a working kitchen in the same lodge with utensils, two fridges with specified areas reserved for each rooms. So we could keep our foods in a specified reserved area in the fridge. You can cook and/or warm your foods also, which was an added advantage given there are no restaurants in abisko. You should get all the necessary foods while coming to abisko or buy it from the supermarket next door, which we did. The supermarket however remains closed on holidays, so better to carry food from kiruna or wherever you are coming from and warm it/cook it in the guesthouse. 
7. The guesthouse arranges for various activities. We only did the barbeque with northern lights tour from this guesthouse. To our misfortune, we could not see the northern lights. The other tours like ice fishing in abisko river, we did through another operator called lights over lapland.
8. The guesthouse also arranges for your transit to or from kiruna town/airport. But you need to book atleast 2 days in advance. We arranged our return to kiruna town through the guesthouse. The bus which was to pick us up (its not reserved only for guesthouse people but picks up others from other abisko accomodations) came 15 minutes late, during which time we literally froze. But again it was not guesthouse's fault i guess. 
9. Finally, to conclude, i think its a heaven for budget travellers, backpackers, bachelors, single travellers. There is not a better place to be found. Do not look for any alternatives. I have only given one star less because i think for strict family travellers, it may not be always convenient. For us it was, but i would recommend each families to review it properly before deciding on this place to see whether it suits them. During our stay, there were other families staying there from different parts of the world, so families do stay here, but few families which are used to luxurious stay might have reservations on this place. Also, the one star less is because there ought to be few more dining options in the guesthouse or proper information being provided. We reached on 26th December evening and that day the supermarket was closed. We did not know that there would be virtually no eating options available in abisko or at the guesthouse. Fortunately we had a barbeque tour reserved that night, otherwise we had to spend the night without food. I think guesthouse should intimate the travellers and guests about this important fact.

Cozy little guesthouse that is within walking distance to everything in Abikso!

The apartment was big and clean, and the staff at the reception were nice and friendly as well. We also had a friendly and knowledgeable driver whom fetched us safely from Abisko Guesthouse to Kiruna Airport.It would be perfect if both shower gel and shampoo were provided, same for sugar as well, though these are small matters and nothing much to complain about overall.
