Great camping, very nice and clean sanitary building. The Dutch owners are very kind and help you with everything. You can surprise them with salty licorice candy :-)
Also the surroundings are breath taking. Definitely we will be back!

So, I check into this place, right? First off, the location's like something out of a postcard your grandma sends you and you don’t know where to put it because your fridge is already covered in magnets from places you’d rather forget. But this place, man, it's the real deal. They’ve got boats you can rent! Yeah, actual boats, not those bathtub toys you pretend are yachts. You can zip around the river like you’re some kinda explorer, except with Wi-Fi.

The beach? Beautiful. The sand's so nice, you almost wanna bring it home until you remember you hate vacuuming. But the water, Jesus, it’s like swimming in liquid ice. You haven’t felt your toes in hours, but hey, at least you’re not overheating, right?

Lunch is where things take a turn. It’s like they decided to serve you a culinary experiment gone wrong. But then, as if by some miracle, there’s ice cream. It's like finding an oasis in a desert, except the desert is made of questionable food choices.

And the cabins, oh the cabins! They’re the kind of genuine that makes you forget about the lunacy of the outside world. Like, you walk in and instantly feel like you should be writing a novel or whittling wood, even if you’ve never whittled anything in your life.

In summary, if you’re looking for a place where you can pretend you’re an adventurous sailor by day and a rustic novelist by night, while occasionally questioning your life choices at lunch, then buddy, have I found the spot for you. Just remember to pack your sense of humor along with your swim trunks.

Hedesunda Camping a nicely placed along a lake within a small forrested area. This is close to a full service campsite with spots for tents, caravans and motorhomes, in addition there are some cabins.

Kids club, organized walks and trips are all done by the owners from what I could gather. But it could be hard to gather information as it was all in Dutch.

A couple of small playgrounds and a large green to play on. A firearea where the young tended to gather at night was a bit bothersome as out kids were trying to sleep. But a quick word with them and they dispersed to other locations (I understand that they don't sit around checking the time time when they are having fun - but the camp staff should keep an eye out for this).

The lake is wonderful to swim and bathe in, shallow and warm close to the sandy beach. Canoes for rent and probably other options we didn't explore (as stated information was mainly given in Dutch). 

The cabin (Aborre) was basic with a fridge, single stove plate, rickety bunkbed with thin mattresses and a sleeping loft (alcove) going above the small veranda. Water is fetched from the nearby service house. No mosquito netting at all and with forrest areas all around the mozzies and gnats were rather bothersome. Mozzie and gnat bodies were all over the walls on the cabin.

Shower (5 SEK for 4 mins) and toilets were in the service building close by. As clean as possible considering the sizable campsite. Changing room for toddlers are only inside the toilet in the women's shower.

Reception has soft drinks, ice cream, souvenirs, some camping supplies and a couple of Dutch food items for sale. Wifi-vouchers are also sold here (2 or 4 hours for non-consecutive use). Booking for the wash room (free) is needed as there is only one washer and one drier.

Restaurant at the beach (sort of separate from the campsite, but also Dutch-run). Not very cheap, but beach side location and plenty of outside seating. Decent enough food although rather limited menu on both food and drink. Hedesunda proper with a couple of restaurants and a grocery store is 5kms away.
