Dundret Laplands Fjällhem

I travelled to Gallivare on the overnight train from Stockholm with my family and we stayed here from the Monday, returning in Good Friday. We were made very welcome and the rooms were so warm and comfortable. For the first day we were told we were the only guests, which was so sad because it's such a lovely place. We had 2 apartment rooms with everything we could ask for in the kitchens, bedrooms and lounge areas. The dining chairs were huge, like armchairs. Very comfortable indeed. Breakfast was included and amazing, with so much choice and the view from the dining room was beautiful. In the evenings we ate in the restaurant, which I have to admit didn't have very much choice. That said, what we did have was absolutely delicious. The whole area was like a giant Christmas card with so much snow and it hardly ever stopped snowing. It must be one of the few places that still have snow in April and such a lovely scene to wake up to each morning. It was probably because of this that we never actually saw the Northern Lights, which I have to say would have been a bonus, but maybe we can visit again some time.
