Wonderful English park, fields with cows. Beautiful mansion. Great food. Allright breakfast. Good service. Ok rooms. Cleaning must be asked for. ( We are saving the planet..) The 5 dish menu was wonderful with excellent wines along. Ask for wine package! We will be back, and gladely clean the room ourselves!!

Extravagant, Swedish, traditional lifestyle in the woods. This place has it all for a romantic, serious getaway. Surrounded by well maintained beautiful trees and wildlife. Has its own sauna. Recommended!

Baldersnäs is situated approximately two hours drive from Gothenburg.
Surrounded by water, a magnificent park and great possibilities to take a walk it is very much worth a trip.
We stayed there for one night and booked a package including sparkling wine with cheese at our arrival, a five course dinner and a room overlooking the park and lake.
The sparkling wine was served on the terrace towards the park and lake and was a nice start for what turned out to be one of the nices places we have been to. 
The mansion had a kitchen and a chef that has to be one of a kind.
The courses were a mixture of modern cooking combined with the local ingredients. We had the wine package that was recommended to the food and that turned out to be a success. Just going two hours from Gothenburg to visit the restaurant is worth the effort.
The staff was very helpful, glad at all time and very service minded.
I can really recommend going here! 

This old "herrgård" (manor house) has seen better times but offers unique accommodation with professional chef prepared fine dining. Our slightly off season visit provided a quirky experience but with rather special personal service.

We stayed here as part of a wedding party as we had friends who got married here. The house is beautiful and the setting is even more beautiful. From the outside there were parts of the house itself that looked a little tired and in need of some maintenance. However, this didn't take away from the fact that the grounds were very well kept and looked after. We didn't stay in the actual house itself but in the newly built rooms which were just a short walk away. Our room was clean, neat, tidy, nicely done with a lovely patio area outside to enjoy the peace in the morning before breakfast. Breakfast was a continental one with a good choice of meats, fresh salmon and cheeses. I felt there could have been a bit more fresh fruit on offer but other than that breakfast was a good way to start the day! The best bit for me, was the surroundings of the lovely sun terrace to enjoy the sun and peace first thing. The staff were great and bent over backwards to help when ever and where ever they could. We were here for a wedding so our time was occupied, however I couldn't help but wonder what we could have done if we had more time there. I think it would have revolved around a canal trip, visiting a mouse park and from what I saw lots of opportunities for bike rides and walking to fill your time. All in all, a beautiful place with stunning grounds and lots of places to sit and enjoy the view of the lake. The wedding was beautifully done as well! 

We spent 4 days there, attending a family wedding. The estate the hotel is beautiful. 
The hotel has been bought recently and plans are underground to refresh it however it has an old charm that is exquisite. There is separate recently built accommodation which is ideal for large gatherings where you can spend quality time with each other whilst still having individual privacy. The breakfast is simple but plentiful. The grounds are stunning with a large lake, walks and a few craft shops. Really relaxing and laid back. 

I stayed overnight, in the main building.  It is very charming and old-fashioned (Gustaviansk).  There are also rooms in two nearby buildings.  Also large dinnerparties (mostly weddings) are in another nearby building.
The main building houses several restaurantrooms and a terrasse With views of the English garden.
The Food was superb and based on local ingredients.
Staff is friendly.

"Shabby chic" but with fabulous food

We returned since we had two nice days last year, with excellent food. Not so this year.
The place was mostly occupied of a wedding with guests. Only a few ordinary guests like us. So they forgot the welcome "fika". Cake and coffee. We found someone and got it finally. Anyway we were looking forward to the 7 dish dinner. We felt we had to enjoy it expensive as it was. Very ordinary small dishes. Until the main thing. Lamb steak. A lot of it ! Tasteless and with this spicy chili sauce. The sauce would anyway have killed the meat.
So our luxury overnight was this time very disappointing. Never again.

Lovely place, disappointing 7 dish dinner.

Dined here in August 2016, 5 course menu, gave a good review, 4 stars of 5. Now, July 2018 I can only give 3 stars. Slow serving - 2 and a half hours and still the desert to go! The food was not bad, but not up to standards - and dramatically worse than 2 years ago. It is a pity that this very nice place has declined. I hope they will rethink their concept and menu and bring this place up again. This place deserves it.
