Kilafors Herrgård

Kilafors Herrgård is not just like any mansion one can visit. As soon as we got in the reception, we could see the view of the big green lawn and the lake. Service was friendly, there is a big kitchen for guests who want to prepare their own food, lots of tables and chairs both indoor and outdoor (we were there summertime), large lawn that leads to the lake, beach and sauna, the famous secret door to the billiard room and what used to be a huge bar (the original owner must have loved to drink and entertain). Breakfast is fine (not Grand Hotel buffet but we did not pay Grand Hotel price level, too, so that's pretty fair), the owner was always checking and refilling whatever is needed. Breakfast area big enough that social distancing is possible during the Covid-19. The room was clean, modern toilet and shower, with fresh towels and beddings, and the BED was so comfortable that I slept like a log. All these and more for very affordable price. Tips: try to get a room with view of the lake, in the main building, with balcony. To sit in the balcony or in the terrace and watch the lake is breathtaking.
