Bay Hill Apartments

I booked a trip to Bequia for my wife's birthday from November 5th-8th. Her birthday was actually on the 6th. We were booked on a 9am flight with Liat from POS to SVG hoping to land by 10am and catch the ferry to Bequia at 11am. Worst case scenario of any delays...we catch the only other ferry for that day at 6pm and be in Bequia by 7pm, bring in my wife's birthday in Bequia as planned....solid back up plan right?!?!? NOPE!!!! Liat delayed and delayed and delayed...we were in POS checked in and ready to go from 7am straight until 6:15pm....yup...imagine how cranky that made my wife especially the day before her birthday. Needless to say we landed in SVG about 7:30pm missing ALL possible options to get to Bequia...Admittedly, Liat was very communicative and provided breakfast and lunch while we were stranded in POS. When we landed in SVG I made the supervisor there aware of my situation and how they inconvenienced us. He called a taxi and told me they will provide transport to the hotel for that night, accomodation and transport to the ferry in the morning so I can resume my plans to Bequia. Disappointed and exhausted as we were we took the offer even though we lost out on 1 night in Bequia and will be travelling via ferry for her birthday. Then and there we met Mr. Bailey...our night in shining armour. He wore the brightest smile and was very apologetic and understandimg of our situation. He grabbed our bags and asked us where we wanted to go for food etc..explaining his property is not one where one can easily walk for food or shopping options (most places in SVG and Bequia are not). We opted for the supermarket...he came with us and walked us through the process...everyone knew Mr. Bailey. He then took us to his property, Bay Hill Apartments which is on a hill (like most SVG properties) and has a gorgeous view of the ocean, islands and the airport. The property was clean, had wifi, hot water, air conditioned, cable tv and spacious...everything for a great birthday night. We had a good nights rest, woke up early, he picked us up as promised, took us for free breakfast and dropped us to the ferry...our Bequia adventure resumed. On Tuesday, we took the 1pm ferry and came back to SVG 6 hours earlier than our flight. We called Mr. Bailey who gladly picked us up and took us on a beautiful island tour then to the airport for our flight. He single handedly salvaged what was turning out to be a horrible birthday trip. Mr. Bailey is very helpful and welcoming...truly resourceful one stop shop for transport, accomodation, boat and land tours!!!
