We have been stayed in this place from 3 years around 15 times. The quality of the room food pool are getting bad visit to visit. Once the bedsheets was not washed and we requested new ones and put them on our own. This time Vege breakfast is 750/- per person which is with Dhal and sambol. Sri lankan omlet cost 500/- with just salt and pepper added. Even Not informing the guest breakfast is like this. And charging extra for the breakfast tea. The cool of the AC is not there informed thrice, saying will come to see but no response. But charging the AC room cost from the guest.

Long waited review

Very good service, I was picked up at the bus station and brought to Tissamaharama on the way back to the bus station. The safaris offered are very well organized, including the breakfast box. The varied Sinhalese breakfast and the dinner ordered in the morning were excellent. A great compliment to the chef Darin. The room is huge, clean with air conditioning and TV, bathrooms with warm water. The facility itself is very well maintained and is cleaned daily. Extra praise to Manager Sunimal and the whole team. I'll be back in any case.

An excellent, quiet place to relax

We were staying in the tree house. It is not a very spacious room, but it is original. Meals and breakfast are not abundant, not bad, but I think it were one of the worst during our three week stay in Sri Lanka. The staff does not speak English fluently and communication was messy, so there were some service mistakes. The landscape is quite beautiful, right in front of the lake and with a pool to cool off.
The staff did not wear a mask all the time and they had to be told to wear it in the heat of the wave of covid in the country and with the confinement of the population.

Fantastic place with a scenic lake view. Calm & quiet environment for relaxing. Wonderful hospitality, simple yet delicious food. Well maintained with good cleanliness standards. 
Ideal transit stay during your safari or Kataragama visits.

Family weekend!

What a view! The lake is very beautiful and full of birds. We have spent one morning with our binoculars just watching birds from the terrace and poolside. The staff arranged us a lake-view breakfast on the first morning, which was a nice surprise. The food was good, staff is friendly. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The pool is small, but nice for a swim. They provide pool towels. Our tree hut was overlooking the garden and the roof of the restaurant. The other tree huts have a better lakeview.

Recommended for birders & naturalists

This is definitely a place which we can recommend. We stayed here 3 nights in December 2019 and we liked it. There´s plenty sound of wildlife, mainly birds. 
We did 2 safaris, to Bundala and Yala. The safari trips were well organized. We visited the national parks in the Morning hours and saw elefants, a leopard, crocodiles, deer, monkeys, mungos, many birds, a jackal and warans. It´s worth the money I think, although I have imagined to see a more abundant wildlife.
The staff is attentive and helpful, the swimming pool is well kept, the views to the lake are amazing. The rooms were clean and they got cleaned during the day. The AC was working well. Sometime the power went off for 2 hrs and it got hot after an hour. 
The restaurant is good but not outstanding. It has a nice open veranda. Main pain point was the waiting time. We were 5 people and the dishes came out one after another. The cook must have prepared them one at a time. French fries came out quickly. But my meal took 1,5 hrs from order to eat (that´s not acceptable). But the taste was really good. We had Spaghetti Bolognese, Deviled chicken (taste was outstanding good) and Chop Suey. The mango lassis we ordered we had to return, they didn´t match the taste we were expecting.

A place which we can recommend

First thing I noted is its not the place I see through  web.  Very unclean and smelly as the water is stagnating under villas. They have not cleaned and  i noted decaying tissues, beer cans and weeds under the villa. I think mosquitoes breed there. Staff has a very poor sense of hospitality to the extent they did not bother you have a baggage, or you need a bed tea in the morning. What you pay is just for an average room in a messy environment. Surrounding is nice but bad staff do not care you but , ready to charge you for star class. Stay away from this place.

Unclean and not worthy of money!

Very relaxing and calm place after busy life. Very good place to relax and manager was very concern about us always and they willing to help us always.
Nice food with reasonable price for foods. Only one concern was pork curry was ordered and it taster was not much happy.
Specially want to remind Dinesh given nice service and he was very helpful and very kind active boy. Few concern in room to be develop except that all good,me and my wife with son they were relaxed and enjoyed a lot.Pool was in the amazing view and it was lovely . wish you team all best for good future 

Awesome wive friendly staff

We stayed at this amazingly beautiful place in September 2019.The hotel is such a beautiful place. The view from our room was breathtaking. (Lake front) very professional team ( especially Chanuka Sunimal and Dinesh -there service is fantastic) value for money mouth watering food. If you want to be with your loved ones , look no other place.THIS IS IT (Privacy )
