Charming hotel with lovely helpful staff and wonderful views. You really feel that your in the Highland jungle in the grounds with wildlife and nature all around you there are beautiful walks and viewing points within the property. Highly recommended

Excellent staff and food. With views of rolling hills from a dream. Small pool with lovely bedrooms. Wish we had longer in this hotel. Well treated and felt comfortable the whole time in the hotel. They looked after us and our young daughter very well.

The Melheim is lovely hotel in a stunning location. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable and had a terrace with the most amazing views across the mountains. The pool and restaurant had the same views. 
There was a beautifully presented, large buffet in the evenings and similar at breakfast with every choice on offer.  It was obvious that the chefs and kitchen staff worked very hard to offer a large choice.  We came away with a couple of their delicious curry recipes.

As usual in Sri Lanka, all the staff were charming and attentive. We can recommend a stay here. 

Cons - the spa bed needs to be reconsidered as it has no hole to put your face through. Unfortunately I had to cancel my massage as I can't twist my neck sideways but that's just my personal problem.

Beautiful views and cool temperatures in this lovely mountain hotel. Small size but charming location among the trees (and monkeys!). The pool is small but set in a pretty spot with the same great views. Can sit and watch the mountains beyond for hours...

The view from my room was stunning and a real gift to wake up to. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Delicious meals and all at an affordable price in a great location to other activities. My friends and I enjoyed our stay and we hope to return one day!

We went with family and friends to spend the holiday weekend and we had an amazing holiday. The rooms were large and spacious and toilet was clean. The view from our bedroom was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. The management and staff did everything to make our stay very pleasant. We will definitely go back !!

We arrived at the hotel with a very warm welcome and a amazing view. The rooms is set in the hill side built on a large rock which was a really nice feature. Small water fall next to our room looked amazing.
Food was good with live music made a really nice evening. 
We would definitely return here stunning hotel and settings.

The view was incredible and very nice breakfast. Nice family room with space. The people were very nice and kind. I tried the spa with my daughter and it was amazing. You have also a beautiful pool with an amazing view. I would definitely come back!

Beautiful Views!

A vacation with a difference!!

Set on a scenic hilltop, the hotel provides sweeping panoramas of the surrounding landscapes. The views from our room was great but we needed to keep the doors to our balcony closed due to marauding monkeys. The monkeys provided quite a bit of entertainment and added to our stay rather than detracting.
Friendly welcoming staff, clean spacious rooms. No air-conditioning in the rooms just a room fan, we didn't find this a problem as the nights were cool enough to sleep in March. The restaurant is a buffet service and OK but not exceptional.
Set on a hillside the hotel boast,  walks, bird watching and and exercise circuit. We did a walk and found the paths unkept and in poor repair. Most of the exercise activities on route had rotted away! It's still a very pleasant explore, but as with any forest walk be prepared for leeches.

Spectacular views. 
We arrived early evening and left early morning so we didn’t get the opportunity it’s to use any of the facilities. i.e. swimming pool. 
Room: Rooms basic, very clean. No air conditioning but a very effective ceiling fan which was quiet (on a low setting) and kept the room cool. 
Lots of steps to climb up and down to get to our room. Well lit at night. 
Bell boys did a great job carrying our cases to our room… and back up again the next morning. Credit to them. 
There is a TV but it worked intermittently after we got help from room service to get it working. 
WiFi intermittent also. It was a very windy evening so this may have effected the signal. 
Reception staff very responsive when we called them. 
Bathroom okay. Shower took a while to warm up but lovely when it did. It’s a wet room and does flood! Okay hairdryer. 
Evening meal: The food was adequate, buffet style. As always with buffet style food, it could be warmer. Good variety of found choices. Desserts okay. There is a fresh fruit area with a very skilled chef chopping it up and serving it. 
Breakfast: we were leaving early and requested a slightly earlier breakfast which they willingly accommodated. 
Overall a nice stay. The views were absolutely stunning and well worth seeing.

Very friendly and accommodating staff who went beyond their way to make our stay exceptional, with a smile on their face. We especially appreciate the flexibility and care they provided when I got sick.
Room is well equipped, restaurant serves amazing food and the view is unbelievable! Can recommend :)

2 nights in Melheim

We had the most wonderful time here. The resort is pure perfection! Everything is clean and looks fantastic. You have an amazing view during breakfast, lunch, dinner and the food is amazing. Very lovely people work here and make the stay just perfect. We would come back every time !:) also, it was my birthday and they set the table up perfectly !

We couldn't fault this hotel. It had wonderful views over the forest for miles, I woke up and watched the sunrise from our balcony. 
The rooms were very spacious and clean, with a massive comfortable bed. In the morning, the monkeys play around breakfast and on our balcony. 
Breakfast had lots of choice, tea coffee on tap. Pool was lovely, not heated, but it didn't need to be. We had dinner here too, and the food was nice. Games room was nice, and the walk to waterfall was lovely (although there were leaches, and I was paranoid about snakes, so took a stick lol.)
Staff were very attentive. They also made me a cake and coffee for my birthday. I would definitely return to this hotel, and it was probably my favourite stay in srilanka.
The only bad point was that it was quite away from ella. But it didn't matter as the drive was beautiful.
