Stayed here for 3 nights while in Mirissa, mainly went to see the wildlife, and wanted somewhere with a good location but also chilled, and this was perfect! The room was large with a very comfy bed and an outside seating area. 
It's about 150m from the main road so is a lot quieter and very peaceful. Monkeys come to visit the garden as well! You can have dinner there too, which was basically a banquet and very very tasty, home cooked Sri Lankan food! Highly recommend and will stay again if I'm ever back in Mirissa. 

We toured Sri Lanka over several weeks & the Garden Inn was genuinly the most pleasant stay. It's described as being away from the main drag, half of the appeal to us and the walk is nothing from the main road if you have functioning legs (tuktuks will drive there too). If anything it was a pleasure to mix in with the wildlife & local families (we were invited into a wedding celebration one evening.)
The room & bathroom was spotless and large, the bed sprawling.
Mama Carouna (sp.) & her family were accommodating & lovely, she herself adorable, fussing over us and protecting her fruit trees from the 'naughty monkey' with her 3ft sling-shot. Her breakfasts were the best we had on our trip (we had a lot) because she listened to our preferences & provided a variety of local dishes including snacks and endless ginger infused tea.
This is a quiet stay, animal noise being the only disruption. The feel was welcoming and comfortable without intrusion, nothing was too much for the hospitable Mama. 


Our AC room was just great. The newest and cleanest room on during travel. Very clean and big bathroom. The host family makes very good breakfast and it was always a lot!
The bed was soooo comfy and had a premium mosquito net! Towels provided and wifi was good!
It s little walk from the main road. 
It s calm since not directly at the noisy main road.
We definitely recommend this place.

Lovely place

Genuine, homely and honest. GORGEOUS tea. 

Very new and nice room. Best host family ever! In 5 min walking distance to the nicer beach side.

The first impressions when arriving at Garden Inn aren't great as you have to walk about 100metres down a small dirt road off the main road to access it. 
The room itself was large and clean and had a big mosquito net. 
We were a bit annoyed that we were moved after 2 nights (we were staying 4) to a different room as someone had booked into an AC room so we didn't really know why we weren't already in the non AC room we booked.
The weather was awful in Mirissa during our stay as we were getting the back end of a cyclone and the property lost power for our third night which wasn't ideal but there was nothing the guys could do about that and they were as helpful as they could be. 
In bad weather the dirt road floods quite bad so you may have to wade through water (we did) and you'll need a torch at night as there's no lighting.
Not all tuk tuk drivers want to drive down there but you may get some that will!
