Danu's homestay is the real experience. 5 star service with many smiles. If your looking for an authentic Sri Lankan homestay experience, this is it. Sigiriya is a beautiful little town and Lion Rock is a must do. Get up early to beat the crowds and heat. It opens at 7am. We hired a scooter but Charu the father will drive you if needed. The family are absolutely loving,kind and generous. Make sure you have dinner with them. One of the best meals I've had in Sri Lanka.Now for the suprise experience of our stay. Charu the father is a driver for a Eco Friendly Safari company that goes to Hurulu Eco park in Habarana. You will leave around 2pm and return 6:30/7pm. Charu is a great driver and we saw over 40 Elephants. Such a breathe taking experience. You will be awe struck at their beauty and how peaceful they are. Organize to have dinner cooked for you on your return you won't be disappointed. Danu(son), Charu and the rest of the family are beautiful and amazing. You'll have a great experience.
