We went to this hotel on our 5th day of our tour. The owner was very friendly and helpful person. And speaking about the food. The food was delicious. And the prices was also acceptable. And the view was awesome. Out of the other hotels we stayed this was the best one. Every person was friendly. And our children had a good environment to play and we saw some peakcocks over there which was very suprising. The rooms were clean, we got free wifi. Hotwater, AC and everything was superb. 
I recommand everyone to go and spend your holiday at viceroy holiday resort. 😊

Viceroy Resort is a friendly place. Nice rooms with lots of space. My special compliment goes to a beautiful Thai lady who´s wonderful tasty meals we enjoyed a lot and to the rest of the staff,  there to help any time!

The rooms are very big and quite new. They have air cond and fan as well and mosquito net above beds. You can see squirrelsvfrom the balcony.
Restaurant serve only 1 sri lankan dish (rice & curry), that is deliciouse. Everything else has nothing to do with Sri Lankan food.
The personnel is very nice and helpful. The place is a bit far from the city, you need to take a tuk tuk or rent a bike.
They are building new rooms at present, but works are stopped at the moment, so no noise. Price are reasonable.

Great stay at Viceroy holiday resort

Friendly place

This is used mostly by people traveling with a driver on a private or small tour, as it has arrangements for commissions and accommodations for the driver with the room you get.  It is a decent mid-range Sri Lankan hotel with large, comfortable air conditioned rooms and decent bathrooms.  There are a limited number of English TV channels.  Most rooms have decent balconies.  The location is quite poor, there is nothing for miles around except pretty rice paddies and palm trees along the rather busy road to Sigiriya.  

If you are traveling alone you are better off staying near Sigiriya town.  This is too far away and not that great a value.

Very isolated hotel with driver accomodations

My friend and I stayed here for one night after arriving in Sigiriya in the afternoon. It was June,  so the place was out of season. We were the only people there, along with our driver. The service was ok and our room was clean. Showers were average as well. Breakfast was a delight with really good, freshly baked bread and spices. They're currently building a new main hall - which would greatly increase the overall size of the hotel - but it is far from finished.  Altogether, an alright hotel that gives you what you pay for.  3,5/5 pineapples.
