If you want to end your life, if you like to get stuffed up, I strongly advise the Negombo diving club, in connection with Pearl Hotel, diving in Negombo: Franz, Austrian, will give you satisfaction: he will give you an appointment to Pearl Hotel, he will ask you about your size without you being able to try the combi and BCDs or check the matos, he will let you pee once he has got your money back, he will not give you any more briefing on the dive, he will let you believe, until you get out of the boat (dangerously) that he will make you dive in the places you asked for too long!

We've been through the worst of our lives with the pearl!

We only stayed for one night luckily. I trusted that this place would have at least some sort of basic standard as I read from tripadvisor comments that the place is owned by Germans. We are from Germany so we thought we’ll give it a try. But the pearl negombo is filthy, old and not taken care off. Shower, towels and room is dirty. You feel trapped in your room as you can’t open the window because there is no moskito nets! This is something so cheap and easy to apply - the owners not even investing in such an easy item show how little they care about the property. Food was eatable but I would never order seafood or anything else risky here. 

Dirty! Do not stay here! No moskito net at windoes! 

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel and had an amazing time!! We stayed for 3 nights and felt utterly relaxed and the staff were so accommodating. Great location, the food was a dream and the comfiest bed we have ever stayed in! Will be back for sure! Do not miss!

Excellent service

From here we started our three-week trip to Sri Lanka. The rooms are not necessarily a jewel. But for the curry and the garden overlooking the nearby sea we came back again.

Good start in Sri Lanka

The best we could do on our three-week vacation in Sri Lanka!!! We were in Pearl 2 days before and 3 days after our tour. Best choice.

Coming home...

A hotel with entrance on the busy Porototha road of Nogombo, but just past the absolute silence gate, on the right the reception and after the restaurant. Still ahead a nice private lawn to take the sun in peace, and prospective the large and deep beach! Rooms quite in order with sea view from the first floor.

Oasis of peace

Simple and clean rooms, a small garden right on the beach... after three trips around Sri Lanka and three stays at this hotel... the best rice and curry in the whole island!

It's like...

Not too long after we had taken our baggage off the band, Mama Helga received us with a welcome drink and immediately provided us with the most important information about the immediate surroundings. After we moved into our comfortable room with sea view on the top floor, we were first able to calmly recover from the flight. When we were able to get up from our sun beds, it was only a few steps from the well-kept garden and we were already in the middle of the branding and could refresh ourselves in the sea for the first time. Nearby, you can also quickly find the right restaurant for eating, but at least as well as you can eat in the hotel-style restaurant - many more and compliments, Arritas! Overall, we led our pearls and had received a good price and thanks for the super friendly service at the home of Pearl, and we can also say thank you for a super friendly and friendly evening, but at the heart of the family, we can still say thank you for a lot!

Great accommodation just before or after the flight.

The Pearl was my first stop after a long flight with a two-hour delay. The reception was so friendly. The room was lovingly decorated, very clean. And finally a comfortable bed. The food was very good. And for me as a food allergy sufferer, they even got me buffalo yogurt. An exquisite, one-time service. I already booked my next stay - this time longer to enjoy the beautiful beach.

Better than coming home

A little bit over charged 
WiFi connection limited to lobby only 
Rooms are clean.......... with soap only 
I have ordered few things like some beer 
Cold drinks and a shot of black label 
Which is ok as compared to outside prices.
Need more improvements as price is high for current environment of this location. 
Staff was very nice and friendly and very helping.
