My girlfriend and I just wrapped up two nights and three days at the mSp hotel in Dambulla. It’s location is in contrast with the busy city center in a beautiful and peaceful scenery right on the Kalundewa lake. 10 minutes away by Tuk Tuk ride from the city center, you are not too far from the main restaurants and markets but not too close either because of the hustle and bustle and loud noises that comes with a Sri Lankan down town. It is the ideal location. As for the main sites, it is 20 minutes away from Sigiraya, the main attraction and if don’t have a driver you can arrange for one to take you there early (avoid other tourists). Now about the hotel, as you arrive you see this spacious peace of land an actual cricket field, perfect for the little ones to run around and play. There is also and pool with a view onto the beautiful Kalundewa lake but caution as there are crocodiles 🐊 so if I were you, I would stick to the pool 😊 (just kidding, they don’t let you swim in the lake). The rooms are simple and nice and every single one has a view onto the lake which is a huge plus. There is also a restaurant within the resort with the lovely waiters that serves delicious local food. This is a hotel that can accommodate anyone from a couple to a family and is composed of the kindest staff that you could find, definitely would go back.
