Dandelion Guest House

I had a great stay at Dandelion Guest House. I was traveling solo through Kandy and stayed here two nights. The room fit my needs perfectly and the service was great. I was treated with great hospitality and was aided in booking last minute train tickets. Highly recommend for solo travelers! 

I loved the woman who runs this place, Chanty (sorry if i spelled wrong!).  she worked very hard and was the only staff member there at the time. did a great job in keeping the large building clean and being very pleasant and informative as well. the hostel is a little out of the way and that means a tuktuk ride in and out of the town, but then it is also cheap as well. the breakfast seemed expensive for what was offered so i ignored and went next door. dorm was nice. wifi poor on day one but very good next day! all in all - i would return!

Once I had booked it for my driver when I was booked in thilanka Hotel. He said it was fine. Dormitory was clean and I guess it was hosted by Japanese people if I could vaguely remember. Just that they werenot picking call when he called and latee said it was full,  but when he showed up they gave a room. 

Would recommend this hostel as a comfortable and easily accessible place to stay. It is up a bit of a hill but that just means you have views.
Rooms were clean. Bed and pillows comfortable. Staff really helpful and obliging.

Excellent Choice!

Comfortable and clean

The location was terrible. Each time I went to the town centre it cost 300-400 rupees in a tuk tuk.  Also, I have travelled intensively through Asia and I have never come across an inhospitable guesthouse owner. I have never felt totally unwelcome as I did in this place. In future, I shall ensure that my homestay owner is a Sri Lankan and not a foreigner. Let’s help support the local community and not the opportunists that come here to milk this lovely country and people!

This place is horrendous, these photos are from old former glory. Everything is broken rust to mold everything is there.old clothing , you can smell old smell right out the door. Laundry liquids are filled with water.worst experience
