we arrived in Kandy, with no booking, but fortunately we found this lovely place. Not a big hotel, but clean, very comfortable and such an amazing staff to look after us. The Breakfast was  simple and tasty, staff will accommodate your request even gave me a guide book that they had for my travelling. The stay was short but well worth.

Windswood is a wonderful villa to stay with very friendly and kind staff. Marlon is really a wonderful Boy who is always with a smile. He helped in arranging everything we requested. The breakfast was really delicious and we loved our stay.

The room needs a AC.

If you are looking for a place where you could relax, having good staff to take care of you, facilities that may comfort you- This is the place to be. 
Easy access to the city, and its highlights, various places of visits, excellent staff who makes you feel at home.

Rooms are just like the pictures... big, clean, quiet, super comfortable, and with strong a/c and wifi, plus cable with english movie channels! Staff is super professional, attentive, and friendly. I almost don't want to brag about this place too much because I don't want it to get too popular and cause the price to increase... but for a really low price, I couldn't believe what a lovely room we got, with a huge private bathroom with an actual shower stall instead of a wetroom, AND a big breakfast! Also, there's a water dispenser in the breakfast room with potable water for you to fill up your bottles! 

There's a shortcut behind the hotel to get down to the mainroad in 3 minutes. There, you can catch one of many buses (there are so many that there is almost zero wait time)... and for an unbelievable 9 sri lankan rupees bus fare, you can be downtown Kandy in 5 minutes. So easy and so cheap. All round, this place is a bargain gem in a beautiful, serene mountain setting... our balcony view was stunning. We loved it so much that we stayed here twice on our trip, and we plan to return to WindsWood Villas on our next trip to Sri Lanka!

Windswood Villa is a charm in Kandy. From the moment we entered we knew this was a great choice of place to stay. The guesthouse feels like home. It is located in a beautiful countryside setting that you never get tired of seeing from the wrap-around balconies on all floors. This guesthouse makes you never want to leave Kandy. It is spacious all over. The bedroom and bathroom are huge so one can easily spread out their stuff. There is ample furniture in the room - a closet to hang clothes, clothes rack, large standing mirror with a small chest of drawers and chairs for sitting. The bathroom has a normal western shower (not a wet room).

The common areas on all floors are huge as well with many sofas for lounging. WiFi is fast and reliable. The staff is awesome. Sampath, the manager, is fantastic. I cannot say enough good things about him. He is very helpful and and easy-going. He patiently and calmly attends to every request. He planned our day-trek to the Knuckles Mountain Range with a great trekking guide and he recommended attractions around Kandy. 

Breakfast is very good. The cook does a great job every time. 

The location is just outside Kandy town but that allows it to be a very quiet and peaceful place to stay. The bus stop is 3 minutes walk and costs only 9 rupees to go into town.

Overall, Windswood Villa is the perfect place to stay in Kandy!

We arrived at this lovely place to stay for three nights and stayed ten days. The overall design was modern and airy

We had the downstairs room. It was large with a small balcony and an outlook.  There was a table, and cupboards- plenty of space for the two of us. The room had a large en-suite. We had  plenty of hot water, but not all rooms do- not a problem after a hot day’s walk. The aircon worked well.

We had  spotlessly clean sheets and towels.
As we extended our stay into the busy Perahera festival season we had to change rooms as ours had been booked out. We had another good room upstairs and the shared bathroom presented no problems. 

Windswood is not in the centre of town but plenty of buses are available at the end of the road and tuktuk are also an option. Would recommend you carry the guest house card and tel no as there is a similar named street . We found the phone GPS helpful when in the tuktuks as most drivers were not sure of location. Tuktuks seemed to be around 250-300.

There was very little traffic noise so a bonus for a good nights sleep. Comfortable bed to in both rooms we slept in.

The staff who ran the place were delightful and always helpful and polite with good English skills.  So a big thank you to Marlon and the rest of the crew for making our stay so enjoyable. 

We found the room and facilities excellent and great value for money

Our one piece of feedback for the guest house is that cleaning,  especially in shower areas, could be better as they had a lot of grime build up that  really needed a good scrub rather than just a wipe down
