The cottage is great - clean, airy, spacious and in a quiet location just ten mins from town; it’s a straightforward walk or just a few minutes by Tuk Tuk. 

Thomas is an amazing host who goes out of his way to make you comfortable.  He makes a mean breakfast, and is a cheerful and hospitable fellow. 

I have no hesitation recommending Kandy Cottage to people who want an authentic stay in Kandy. 

This was our second stay at the Cottage and we hope to return again. Thomas is a wonderful host, so friendly and chatty does great breakfasts and the house is spotlessly clean. Lovely location within easy walk of the forest or the town and an easy tuk tuk back in the dark. Wonderful highly recommended

Kandy Cottage - a charming delight set at the edge of the forest; tranquil & serene; tastefully simple interiors; be greeted by the gracious & endearing Mr Thomas, a wonderful host who takes you under his wing to provide the most authentic Sri Lankan hospitality; delicious breakfasts & pots & pots of tea, even late at night; we were thoroughly enchanted by the cottage, the company & the delightful & unobtrusive dogs, Mickie & Cookie; we would have happily stayed a month

Lovely guest house, walking distance to the center, but in a quiet place which is awesome. Only 300 roupies in tuktuk from the train station. Thomas, the host, belongs to this place, he's great. Interesting, chatting, he knows a lot and is of a good help to you plan your trip. Highly recommanded. 

What a lovely place to stay, great breakfast and amazing host. Beautiful bungalow run by a really nice man, he’s very helpful and the rooms are all clean and comfortable. There’s even a security guard!! 

Thomas the host absolutely made our stay in Kandy Cottage a most enjoyable and memorable one!  He went above and beyond our expectations,  letting me help in the kitchen and showing me how to make string hoppers and curries, going into the city especially to buy some kitchen ware we wanted to take home with us, to ensure we got a good price, taking us into Kandy to show us around and offering advice on places to visit.  A very caring and interesting man whose company we very much enjoyed.  He truly epitomised the happy and friendly nature of the Sri Lankan people and made us feel very much at home.  The property is basic but Thomas keeps it spotless and it had everything we needed.  Very good location a 10 minute walk away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

Kandy Cottage is in a fantastic location, on the edge of Udawatta kele forest (well worth a visit) so it's out of the hustle and bustle of Kandy, but an easy walk or tuktuk into the city. We had delicious breakfasts every morning and the house manager was also super friendly and full of helpful tips (and good breakfast, huge portions!). We were sorry to leave Kandy Cottage, its a lovely space. The dogs occasionally barked at nocturnal animal intruders, but this didn't disturb us, but something to consider if you're a very light sleeper!

His breakfasts are a treat.
The cottage is well kept and peaceful. Yet only 5 minutes into busy Kandy.

Wonderful experience

The Kandy Cottage has a nice and quiet setting, but is overpriced in our opinion. We were very surprised having to pay for 2 extra nights (nights we did not sleep there) when we changed the dates of our stay. So little flexibility and understanding!
