We stayed here for 4 nights (was supposed to be 3 but we loved it too much!) and we were so pleasantly suprised by how nice this place is. We didn't pay much, $12 a night, so we thought it would just be a standard bed/bathroom in a hostel. However, you get your own apartment! The place is so spacious, has a lounge/dining area, seperate kitchen and a bedroom with an ensuite. There are fans throughout the place and it really is like being at home. With a supermarket around the corner we were able to cook some meals. Theres also a tv with English channels and wifi. Ifti (the owner) is very lovely and helpful, giving us lots of tips on where to go. He also took us around kandy on our first day. We went to a gem factory (which was more about selling you gems than telling you how they are made) and then to a Kandian dance show which was pretty cool. I definitely recommend this place. There's so much to do around it, with train and bus easily accessible. It was such a lovely place to stay and relax! We even got a free breakfast on our last morning. Thanks Ifti :)
