Found the linen was not that clean, telephone not working and do not know how to dial, went to reception and asked, wanted to dial 9, tried in the morning and it was not. Tried to go out, doors were locked even at 5.55am, no way to talk to anyone, dialed the contact number, no answer, wanted to have a cup of tea, only milk and sugar is there, no tea !!! I was wondering if an emergency what a desperate..

Hopeless stay

This place is making an effort but there needs to be many improvements before we would give it a 3! 

Positives

- The Wifi was quite strong 

- Owner offered us water when we arrived...BUT we had to pay for it

- The grandpa and owner are really friendly although the owner can be hard to get ahold of at times. They were great to our kids

- Nice views from their deck area 

- Close to the Botanical Gardens

- They have their own Tuk Tuk to get you places (also see negatives below)

Negatives

- The room was dirty...cobwebs in corners with plenty of spiders. Steady stream of ants climbing on the walls as well

- No hot water

- No bug screens on windows and only one mosquito net on beds

- When the room next to us turned on the water, the water would randomly come out our shower

- Loud music was played off and on at night when you are trying to sleep

- Owner would offer rides in Tuk Tuk but you would have to wait for quite some time to organize return trip...would have been easier to catch your own Tuk Tuk back

- Other Tuk Tuk drivers had difficulty finding place from Kandy

- Beds were super hard

- Fair distance away from Kandy and Temple of Sacred Tooth (about 7 km)

- No toilet paper

- We were not given a key to our room. When we asked the owner said not to worry about it. We had no issues with our stuff but it would have been nice to have our own key. Locals staying in the room next to us had a key though

- No sheets...luckily we had our own sleeping bags

We've travelled quite extensively and are used to staying in our fair share of budget accommodations throughout Asia, including India and Nepal and this was easily one of our less memorable experiences!

Needs Improvement 

Very bad experience,
Only one room was cleaned half way, other two rooms were very dirty.
The toilets were exceptionally dirty and only one toilet was usable. No hot water, and the staff play music and movies too loud to our comfort. 
At night the staff had a drinking party and by morning even the living area was a mess with empty beer bottles and cigarette ash.
I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone to stay and would not give any ranking to this hotel.
