We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel. The staff, Alex, was particularly very considerate. The hotel even provided us with complimentary breakfast on the first day since they felt that we came early in the morning and might not be able to go out for breakfast in time.Really nice of them! The place had a very large living space with a well-stocked kitchen and utensils. Will definitely recommend this place.The communication from the hotel was also very clear and the location markers provided were spot on.

Very clean luxurious private room with attached bathroom for a nice price in Mount Lavinia. The owner gave me even a free dinner delivered in my room!

Given that it I the cheapest private room I could find in the area, I was very impressed at it's cleanliness and facilities. The manager was incredibly nice helpful and casual, might not suit everyone but it will be where I stay whenever I'm in Colombo from now on. Perfect for me

The wifi was good and accommodated my needs. Right outside my room was a beautiful view of Colombo. It was affordable and I would definitely recommend it!

Initially I wanted to stay at the Hillstreet Villa for a few days only, but then I just stayed there throughout my 3 week visit. (Except a few days on trips outside of Colombo) Shamil is a lovely host who will help you out at any time. His staff is friendly and everything is always clean and in order. There is a nice little kitchen, free tea, fridge... everything you need. It is a quiet and safe place - the police station is actually next door ;-)I recommend this place to anyone who likes an easy and affordable accommodation in a good area of town. It is a 5 minute-ride away from the beach, 7 minutes to Hotel Mt Lavinia, and even if you want to go all the way up to the harbour or the Galle Face, it'll be around 20 minutes (2€) in a Tuk Tuk.There is some real good Biryani at Big Bite Biryani almost next door, 2 supermarkets... I hope, you will enjoy this place as much as I do!

I would suggest to have a more comfortable bed.It was a plesent stay.Staff was very helffull

that's great cosy little and quiet family place for that low price!  Clean and spacey rooms, nice terrace/balcony. the owner of this guest house - mr. Shamil, if i remember right, was very great host.Tho we arrived at 5 am, he was very kind and found rooms for us to stay in till our booked rooms were ready. He also was very helpful providing us with his own fridge, and giving us directions around the cityI highly recommend this hotel for low-budget trips and for sure i will stay in this place when come to Colombo again.Thank you

Reviews of that place were good, also pictures of the rooms looked nice, so we decided to book it for our stay in Sri Lanka, since we didn’t really have any specific plans for our holiday. We also arranged the driver through the Hillstreet Villa, and it meant that we could get the keys of our room right away. And that was a big plus, since our plane arrived 4 o’clock in the morning.
It had a bed, table, chair, drying rack, small TV and a ceiling fan. Wi-Fi worked well. Bathroom was in order. Only thing you should keep in mind - they do not really have a hot water in that kind of places. So, it took me a while to get used to wash myself in the “sun-heated” water. Mainly because at home I always prefer super-hot shower. “Almost boiling”, as my husband says. But overall, I was quite satisfied with our stay in Hillstreet Villa. It’s very basic, clean (very clean!) and on a budget (it was around 10-12 euros per night, if I’m not mistaken). And what’s important – owner was friendly and helpful. We didn’t like our first room and he offered us an upgrade.
