Villa AURIZ Turismo Rural

We had a wonderful stay in these beautiful apartments while in the area bear watching and exploring the magnificent scenery. The apartments (infact they are more like a house!) are located through the village, on the small road to Valle de Lago. They are less than a 5 minute walk from the center of this beautiful small village. The apartments seem very new, and everything inside is spotless and decorated to a very high standard. They apartments come fully equipped with everything you could need, including full cooking equipment and a very nice cooker and oven. One thing I noted was that instead of your normal mis-match of cooking utensils, everything matched and was not the cheap stuff you'd expect to find. Infact even the wine glasses were nicer than mine at home!! There is also a real log fire for the winter months. As mentioned the apartments are fully equipped for cooking, and there are a few small shops in the village (one is just before the apartments on your left) which stock everything you need foodwise. However if you want o eat out then there are several restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Our apartment had 3 very large double bedrooms, all ensuite. One of the bedrooms was located on the ground floor which was ideal for my Mom, as the stairs to next floor were a little steep. Outside there is ample parking, and a picnic area with the a stream running through it. The whole garden was alive with flowers while we were there. There is also a small porch area which is gated off and this came in very handy for making sure our dog didn't wander off! On this note our dog was very welcomed by the owner who had his own rescue dog. The owner couldn't have been nicer, and we received a very warm welcome the minute we arrived. Nothing was too much of a problem, and he brought us books of the area for us to read, and helped answer any questions we had. He also gave us local sidre to take with us when we left. He also showed us a small museum attached to the complex which he has lovingly collated, and is well worth a look round. Somiedo is a truly beautiful place, and Auriz is a wonderful place to stay while visiting the area.
