San Andres Resort, Golf del Sur

Just back from spending 2 weeks in San Andres and didn't want to leave! We had a lovely 2 bedroom villa facing west looking out over the golf course so we had full sun from about 10am til dusk and that is exactly what we came for! The villa had everything we needed, kitchen and washing machine and having 2 bathrooms was an unexpected bonus. We have 3 children aged between 4 and 16 and even though the second bedroom has 2 single beds, they put in an extra bed and the 3 children still slept comfortably. The living areas in the villa were very spacious and there were lots of familiar channels on the TV. We really liked the resort itself, with 2 small play areas and 3 pools there was something for everyone. The 2 shops onsite had a good variety but if you are self catering a lot it's worth going to the HiperDino in San Blas or the mercadona in chafiras. Mercadona has better variety and value out of the 2 although it cost me €10 to get a taxi back from the mercadona because there's a one way system around Golf del Sur so the taxi had to pass off San Andres and go all the way back around, but then if (when!) I go back I'll do a good big shop and it'll be worth the €10. We chose not to hire a car and we managed with taxis, buses and walking. The buses are very reliable and cheap. If we wanted buzzing nightlife we'd have been disappointed but we went to Tenerife for peace and quiet and sunshine and San Andres ticked all of those boxes and more!
