Bonifacio

The road to this villa is mostly single track with hairpin bends, virtually no safety barriers and sheer drops. It is high in the mountains with beautiful views but beware renting a wide or large car which would be difficult to manoever round the many bends. You will only be able to drive in first gear. We were unable to go out at night for fear of driving back in the dark. The bedding was of a very poor quality, rough and bobbly and somewhat threadbare. One pillow per person and some were very lumpy. There are a lot of dogs which bark persistently through the night, so bring earplugs! In spite of this we had a lovely holiday as the area is beautiful. Classical guitarists playing in Balcon de Europa in Nerja was a highlight for me. Beautiful beaches, largely shingle. Wonderful beach and town restaurants which were not as expensive as we expected.
