In summary, we had a lovely relaxing holiday. Great beach location, great facilities and brilliant staff. Great selection of food but not always piping hot. On the day we left major building work started in the neighbouring hotel. Think this may be going on for some time. In the Star Prestige area this was very noisy but it couldn’t be heard elsewhere in the hotel complex. Location: direct access to a long sandy beach. A promenade to right of the hotel and its a short apprx 15 minute walk to the local Spar and a small shopping centre. A further 20 mins and there is a much bigger shopping centre. Accommodation, we opted for a Star Prestige room. It was bright and spacious, had plenty of storage space, comfy beds (2 large singles pushed together), coffee machine and a balcony with recliner chairs overlooking the sea. The bathroom was well equipped with a powerful over bath shower, a powerful hairdryer and plenty of worktop for toiletries. Unfortunately, the bathroom décor was quite dark would benefit from modernisation. Star Prestige area benefits, a quiet adult only pool area overlooking the sea. Heated pool and both a sit in and lie down jacuzzi, plenty of sunbeds, help yourself bar stocked with alcoholic and soft drinks, snacks (meats, cheeses, salad, sandwiches, cakes etc). Also a small lounge area stocked with wines, coffee machine & daily newspapers. Main pool area, we didn’t use the pools here but it looked nice and there always seemed to be plenty of sunbeds and no loud music except when pool activities such as Aqua aerobics were taking place. Food: We didn’t use the Tappas restaurant as there wasn’t much to tempt us. We did use the Oasis snack bar by the main pool a couple of times, a limited selection of hot food but plenty of salads, fruit and desserts. Also drinks. The main restaurant Atlantic served a wide range of food all buffet style. My only negative is that food that had been cooked and placed in serving trays on hot plates was in my experience almost always lukewarm and sometimes even cold. Cold pasta, creamed potato to name just a few. There was an amazing range of fruits, salads and hot and cold meals. The desserts were to die for. The cooking stations were great with plenty of fish and meat options all served piping hot. It was also spotlessly clean and staff were continually ensuring that it remained that way. Star Prestige guests had a slightly separate dining area and a few perks such as waiter service for drinks in the evening. Bars: the main rooftop bar was a lovely place to have a pre diner drink overlooking the sea. On a number of occasions there was live music in the evening and on one occasion a small casino set up. It was very windy certainly in April/May while we were there and jackets, cardigans etc were needed outside. Entertainment: we can’t comment on the activities around the main pool area or the children’s activities. The evening shows in the main theatre were well supported, some were good others not so. There were a couple of guest shows and others were put on by the entertainment team, these were not so professional and generally involved dancing and lip synching, but they were a fun crowd and worked hard. Décor: the main areas were light and airy but the corridors (we were on Star Prestige 2nd floor) were quite dingy and lacked any décor to brighten them up. Staff: staff in every aspect of the hotel were brilliant. They were happy, professional and did their upmost to make guests welcome
