Beautifully located lodging with fantastic views, great breakfast, super friendly staff, occasionally live music and swimming pool open 24 hours. And in the morning two friendly horses are ready to entertain your kids while you are getting ready to hit the hikes. BTW - great location for short and long walks in the mountains. Not far away from Piedrafita, Panticosa and Sallent de Gállego.

This remote mountain lodge offers spectacular scenery, friendly and helpful staff and good food.  It is well worth the effort required to get there.  It is a great way to enjoy some time in the Spanish Pyrenees 

Situated in 1200 meters altitude with breathtaking 360 degrees view to this beautiful part of the Pyrenees. Atmosphere in this family driven lodge is sporty, friendly and almost spiritual when you are enjoying the sunset on the terrace while songs from Angus and Julia Stone or the same genre are gently flowing from the kitchen. Restaurant with panorama windows serves fine breakfast and simple and well tasting dishes in the evening. 

Each separate chalet is rustique and clean with simple but nice kitchen and bathroom. Plenty of space outside for children’s play in the evening. 

An Ideal base for a full range of mountain activities like the family friendly hikes from Baños de Panticosa to Refuge Bachimaña or the circular hike to Plano Ibon. Also try the magic forest just below the lodge. Reminds me of something from Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Don’t loose the track…


We stayed here one night, but wished we'd planned for longer. The staff were amazing and friendly. Although we don't share a common language, we managed just fine. The room was neat and clean with a spectacular view. The room was decorated in a modern classic style. The food is amazing. 
It takes a bit of time drive up, but it's worth it. This is a lovely, beautiful, and peaceful place to relax.

There are few places in Spain like Piedrafita Lodge. Very few (and I am a well weathered traveler). Views are stunning, you are completely out of the beaten track, only surrounded by nature. You have this good feeling of being lost in the middle of nowhere. If you are looking for a place to forget about any daily stress whatsoever and break your habits, this is your place. Wooden lodges are really convenient. Cozy and well kept. The place is pretty fairy tale like. The family that runs the business (Begoña and Jorge) as well as the rest of the staff are all really helpful and nice to you. We have been coming here every year for the last six years. Twice a year. What else can I say??

We were the second time in the Apartahotel Piedrafita Lodge and it was again super! The way to the skiing area in Formigal takes about 20 minutes and it's easy to reach. The accomodation is very clean, super beds and situated in a wonderful and quiet landscape. The only thing we missed was a sharp knife to cut bread.... but that was not a severe problem ;). It is a really very nice and relaxing place to stay and we hope to come back again! Thanks for the very pleasant stay!
