Masia d'Amer

We were using this as a stopover on the way to the south of Spain and what a cracking little find it was! yes, it is low season so was quiet everywhere but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent with plenty of local dishes to try. We took the €22 menu both evenings and weren't disappointed, taking the opportunity to try most of the dishes on offer. The location is up on the hillside just a little out of the town of Amer but this gives amazing views and a tranquillity - we also took the walk up to the chapel/hermitage at the top of the hill, about 40 minutes walk up a road then a dirt track (not a flip flop route!) for some more fabulous views and as it was a calm day, there were paragliders floating about too. I imagine that in the summer the place is much busier as there are plenty of paths and tracks around the mountainsides near here; certainly the restaurant will be busy and with just the 4 rooms, book early to avoid disappointment. We tried to book for another trip a month later and all the rooms were taken. Many thanks to Adrian and his team for making us feel so welcome :)
