Just returned from 5 days at Finca El Ventos, FANTASTIC visit. My fiance and I were exhausted and wanted fresh air, adventurous hiking, and some indulgent care. This place delivered beyond!! We live in Madrid but if we were Barcelona residents we would plan regular weekend trips. Best things: - the views and the peace - the warm but discrete service, really lovely team - the luxury of hiking from your front doorstep to volcanoes and castles - the excellent advice on all matters, sporting and visiting, from the owner Javier - ESPECIALLY the excellent chef, Beatriz, inventive and masterful cooking, international flavours, sophisticated yet with the best local ingredients. We had every meal on-site for 5 days so we truly tested her! - the lovely St Bernard dogs that follow you around, plus their puppies. The finca is a great place to be based. It The area has so much to do, aside from the 42 volcanoes and amazing hikes, e.g. hot air balloon trip we took at dawn, visiting medieval towns nearby, the incredibly Fagen forest, etc. Recommended for couples; for single visitors wanting the perfect escape in nature; for couples w athletic teenagers, as well as couples w younger children (horses on the property, for example).
