Benavista Estepona

I decided to stay here for two reasons... firstly as it was centrally located between Malaga airport and Gibraltar, and secondly because it was reasonably priced for a self catering apartment. Upon arrival, I found the key collection office easy to find, and was given good directions to my apartment. Plenty of parking around the back of the complex, and very nice gardens within the complex. The apartment itself was a good size, but my first impression was that it was very dated looking. The furniture looked very old. Having said that, it was fully equipped with everything you could want, from an iron and ironing board, to a washing machine, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and even a free to use safe. Wifi was also included, but i lost connection on day 4, and never got it back again. I was also lucky enough to have my own private garden, equipped with a table and chairs, two sun loungers, and a BBQ. The pool was large, and even though I went in mid July, was never busy, and there were plenty of sun loungers available. The location of the complex was next too a few shops and restaurants, and Lidl supermarket was a 5 minute drive down the road. The beach was over the other side of a very busy dual carriageway, about a 5-10 minute walk. The beach itself was disappointing... rocky, and gravel like pebbles. Only a handful of people were on it on any one day, and I didn't see anyone in the sea. I liked the complex and think that it is value for money, but even with a car, the dual carriageway was very busy, in both directions. On most days I had to sit in heavy traffic which was frustrating, but this is no fault of the complex. In summary, it's a good location to explore the south coast of Spain, good value for money, friendly staff, and the apartment was very clean.
