Cal Maginet Hotel

We had a delightful stay in the Cal Maginet Hotel. It’s a large, ancient building converted into a lovely hotel. There are so many interesting spaces and artifacts that the hotel also feels like a museum. Our room was a good size and had everything you would expect in a nice hotel. The woman in charge is very friendly and helpful. The hotel also contains a restaurant and she seems to be involved in both so she is quite busy. The rooms are reasonably priced and include a very nice breakfast which offered breads, croissant, fruit, cheese, yogurt, ham, sausages, tomatoes, coffee, and orange juice. The hotel is located in the very center of the small village of Vilaverd. It is located in a scenic, hilly, green, rural area of Cataluña, near the town of Montblanc. There is a free village parking area very close to the hotel but would be very hard to find on your own. It’s not shown on Google Maps. We stopped our car and asked a local person where the parking area is. He was happy to point it out. It was wonderful to stroll around this charming old town in the evening. And the impressive World Heritage Site of Poblet Monastery is only a 17 minute drive from Vilaverd. I highly recommend staying at Cal Maginet.
