Hostal Vista Alegre

Traditional built and furnished, road side resturant & hotel. If travelling north, the entrance is off the south bound carriageway. It’s a bit tricky, but the sat-nav made it easier. The communal areas, bar & Resturant are clean and quite modern. The bedroom was a good size and at the back - we were not troubled by any noise. The bedroom furnishings were quite dated, but clean and with air-conditioning. We could access only one electric socket which was in the bathroom. The staff were very pleasant and the most spoke good English. We ordered the excellent meal-of-the-day in the Resturant. There was a wide variety of choice. We chose the seafood starter, which was superb (first time I have eaten octopus tentacles!) mains of chicken and cod, sweets of custard tart & cheesecake, price included fresh baguette and good quality wine ALL for €12 each. Our two small dogs were welcomed and no extra charge. There is very limited outside areas to exercise them other than around the car park. In line with most hotels, dogs were not allowed in indoor eating areas. However, weather permitting there are a few chairs & tables outside. The complementary breakfast was minimal, but excellent coffee and tasty hot croissant. Excellent free wi-fi reception and tv in bedroom. Easy Parking directly outside hotel door. We would be happy to stay again and a very reasonable price.
