Having been delayed in Basque country due to mechanical problems with our car in inclement weather, we were forced to seek some overnight accommodation which proved quite hard to find. How fortunate we were to get such excellent accommodation at the eleventh hour in a rural spot hemmed in by wooded mountains, and with such a warm and welcoming hostess as Aldona. This beautifully converted rustic farmhouse has self catering facilities in a clean and well fitted out kitchen which suited us, as we were supposed to be camping. Our en suite room, decorated in hot orange, was spotlessly clean with tasteful furnishings, comfortable twin beds and plenty of hot water. The continental style breakfast was excellent. The only sounds were those of nature, the perfect place to unwind after all the unwanted hassle of the day. I'm delighted to be the first person to provide an English language review, because for just 55 euro this rural retreat not too far from the coast and in close proximity to the mountains which offer fine walking, really was a great find.
