Very good
10 reviewsPros: -location is fantastic on the north end of the gothic quarter near the University. You are just steps away from the metro and a couple of blocks from El Ramble. -Rooms are spacious, clean, and modern -bed is very comfortable -they supply you with a number of convenience items so you do not need to go shopping immediately. Such as soap for the dishwasher and clothes washer, salt, pepper, shampoo, etc. It is only a small amount but it does help. -when we arrived we originally had room F, but the receptionist said she would give us the better room C. We did not know what this meant until the following Monday. We were in Barcelona during their major festival and to end it they have a huge parade of the giants. These giant figures march down the street with bands playing around them. Well room C overlooked the route so we were able to just sit in our room and watch the whole thing. We are so grateful to this lady for moving us. -they have a large safety deposit box in each room -All the appliances are modern and work well (they even have a binder in a dozen languages explaining exactly how to use each one). -they supply all the dishes, utensils, etc. that you need. -great air-conditioning. -Wi-Fi signal was very strong with good speeds -has a moderate sized elevator which is not always the case in Europe (note: we were on the 1st floor which in Europe means the 2nd floor – the ground floor is considered 0. But in this building, it is even more confusing. The normal European 1st floor is full of offices so they call it the “P” floor – so the 1st floor in this building would be the 3rd floor in North America. We thought since we were just on the 1st floor we would walk up the stairs, but it ended up we had to walk up two flights of stairs). The good thing is that in the elevator you just need to push the 1 it will get you there. Cons: -you need to sign in at their offices rather than at the apartment. In this case it was a good 15-minute walk from the apartment which is a long distance when you are carrying heavy bags. -the offices are quite far so there is no staff to ask questions of or get help near by -they have satellite TV with 50 stations but most of them do not get a signal. None of the stations we could get were in English. -the satellite seemed to go out for around half an hour every evening. This meant no TV or Wifi for a short period of time. -Only has a shower but it is large. -the elevator is slow, so when busy it can take awhile to get it. Conclusion: -would we stay here again; the answer is a definite yes. The apartment is clean, centrally located, everything worked, not sure what else one could ask for.
