We chose this small hotel because of the location, just off the Ramblas and near the Metro at Placa Catalunya.  We were able to easily meet up with other family members.  It was quiet, clean, and the bed was good.  We had to walk up a narrow staircase, the room was very small.  Inexpensive.

Very Convenient Vacation

I can’t quite put into words how awful this accommodation is. From the minute I saw its dishevelled appearance from the outside, my heart sank. But that was the best bit, since it was far worse inside. The stairwell was filled with graffiti and an extreme joy unpleasant stench. The Reception, while not horrendous, was less than inviting. However the piste de la resistance was my room which I am certain was of a lower standard than a prison cell (at least prisoners have their own toilet). Old, tatty, zero decoration, stained bed sheets, a window I couldn’t open, and constant noise all night - not that I would have slept anyway; the place has a general vibe of ‘crack den’ and I was scared to sleep for even a minute in case someone tried to bust into my room. Don’t go. Eat this place with a barge pole! I’d seriously rather sleep on a park bench than return! 

Hell Hole

this place is clean. Mouldy shower though. Hard as nails bed. The staff had access to room to hang washing from balcony and retrieve it later?????
Once you left the room you never went back til bed time due to the stairs. Used as a base only. Never saw staff until last night when he knocked on door asking if everything was ok and could he have a tip.

Really didn’t see any of the bad things other people have reviewed. 
Location is literally on La Rambla, room was cleaned every day, beds were good, massive fan in the room and such a cute private balcony. Neither of the men working there bothered us and even if their English was bad the basic communication was fine. I even accidentally booked the room for August instead of September and after just one phone call they sorted it out without the £70 cancellation fee. 

Clean, good price and perfect location 

It is located in a great if not perfect location, the gentleman working there was quick and didn´t bother us at all, unfortunately he couldn´t speak much spanish or english but the basics were fine. It is very cheap so you get what you pay but still, a good option for adventurous travellers who don´t repare on details

Great location

This is not a nice place to stay. We chose this hostel due to its location right on las rambles, this is the perfect location for 2 days in Barcelona. When we arrived it is a really dodgy looking building, we had to walk up about 4 flights of graffiti covered stairs to get to the reception. It advertised free WiFi in all rooms but the WiFi didn’t reach our room at all so would have to sit in a noisy corridor listening to someone snoring in the room next to it. 

The room was clean and we had paid extra for our own bathroom which looked like it was falling down. It had a sliding door with no lock so you would have to be sharing with someone you knew very well. Also we had a balcony with sliding doors outside which also had no locks on so I didn’t feel too safe in the room. The beds were the most uncomfortable things I have ever tried to sleep on and after just one night every part of me aches! 

The staff seem nice enough. Overall I definitely wouldn’t stay here again and I am glad it’s only 2 nights

Where to start.. ignore the official picture on booking, its basically the owners room. The other rooms are tiny, smelly, no locks on private bathroom door.. the bed is comfortable for 1,5 people max, for 2 is deffinitely small. The walls very thin, if someone has a shower or is useing the batrhoom you feel like your sleep next to a water fall. Also, good to know people have a great sex life. The building is very old, dirty, smelly.. this pension is cheap, you might want to spend some more money to feel a bit more comfortable.
They eventually  change the towels, bring toilet paper and take out the trash.. just not on the same day. You either get clean towels , new toilet paper rolls or an empty trash can when you return to your room at the end of the day.. just not all of the three at the same time.
