Our first time staying at any Mandarin Oriental, although we have thought about it on many previous occasions. We are just unable to understand why we have waited so long to do this. This hotel is absolutely stunning. The building itself is so beautiful. Every single member of staff we encountered went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best stay ever. The food offering was outstanding and we are experienced and confirmed foodies so we are often hard to please on that front. At the Mandarin Oriental, we thought that every restaurant was nothing short of superb. We had a junior suite on the first floor and it was just so beautiful. Very difficult to pick out any single thing on which comment but the shower in our room was the best we have ever experienced in any hotel anywhere anywhere in the world. I suppose in the interest of balance the only negative I can find is that in spite of being beautifully designed, and very modern Spanish style, many of the doors in the property – for example the toilet door in our suite – were incredibly heavy and difficult to open with very small and awkward handles. (This is an observation rather than a criticism and it no way devalues the positive things I have said about this lovely property!) So thank you Mandarin Oriental and you can guarantee that our next hotel booking will be a Mandarin Oriental.
