First off , if you are looking for a luxury holiday … go elsewhere. But ! If you are looking for a nice place to stay come here! I wasn’t under any illusion that it was going to be fancy. Our holiday didn’t start off great. We had arrived earlier than check in (3pm) but actually had to wait till 4pm to get in to our room. But during our wait we were looked after by a lovely lady who I assume was owner/ manager. Nice clean big bedroom with 2 beds with fab air conditioning. Good clean bathroom. Kitchen was fab for the four of us and my kids joined the sofa beds together each night. The beds weren’t the comfiest but fine for 7 night stay. And no bedbugs! We stayed self catering so can’t comment on the food but the bar staff were friendly even when there was a slight language barrier. We got new towels everyday. Our apartment was cleaned every 2nd day. The walls are quite thin so if your neighbours are noisy , you will hear people. We only had this 2x during our holiday. Now the pools! We are pool people. We were thoroughly impressed. The staff in hotel were up early cleaning and yes there was towels set up first thing. We actually didn’t bother as went out to explore first thing and came back later in the day to enjoy the warmed up pool and always managed to get a sunbed just to keep personal items on. My kids loved buying their own lilos. It’s great that there is no restriction on use. The pool depths are amazing. My son went from swimming in the shallower end to jumping into the water deeper than my 6ft 2 husband. The wee slides are cute but both my children were unbothered due to how awesome the pool was. But as it’s so deep be careful with littles. Pools are secured in the evening with fencing. Despite the comments on entertainment, we actually really enjoyed it. Me and my husband loved the Michael Jackson tribute (taken through his dances over the years). And some of the other acts were brilliant too. My husband was pulled up and we all thought it was so funny. You can see a real effort is made by each performer. The kids disco is super cute. We also didn’t use the kids club as my kids were just interested in being with us. The hotel were even kind enough to sent up a gift and card for my husbands 40th. I hadn’t mentioned it was during our stay. The token thing for the bar was fine, and actually a great system to keep the place clean and without glasses being left all over the place. But just remember to keep the receipt at check in until check out or you won’t get the euro per token back. This hotels location is a major part in why I booked and I was not disappointed. It is a 10 minute walk to the big supermarket which was great. Myself, my husband and kids 7 and 9 managed. But if you struggle with the heat and walking I recommend a taxi. It is also only a 2 minute walk down a small hill to the shops/ restaurants and bars and about 5 mins to the beach. Wow! Perfect for small legs. We walked up to the square (about 30 minutes- 15 minutes up hill). It wasn’t our scene. But a nice walk all the same and many more restaurants up that direction. We also booked Marineland on our last day and were picked up right outside the hotel. We took a taxi back and it only cost €12.80. Over all, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and our stay at the Jutlandia and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to others who have younger children. Thankyou to all at jutlandia
